EPSO Exams forward planning for November 2023 - EPSO competitions news and much more!

Unless you have been on a digital fast, you have heard the news about EPSO's troubles with automated remote proctoring, re-testing issues, testing being halted for the time being, and the postponement of the AD5 Generalist competition, among others.

To catch you up on the latest news and opinions:

There are still a lot of things happening despite this announcement, which has ruffled some feathers. There will be one last testing round for CAST candidates - this is a good opportunity to get in there now - because who knows when testing will start again? And there are still applications due and reserve lists waiting to be published.

Open for applications

Administrators in the field of TRANSPORT | EPSO/AD/410/23

  • Applications must be submitted latest by 7 November 2023 at 12:00 noon (Brussels time)
  • EPSO announced that the deadline to submit applications has been extended! The new date to submit applciations by:
    • 5 December 2023 at 12:00 noon (Brussels time)
  • The deadline to submit supporting documents is 12 December 2023 (this has remained the same on the EPSO website so far)

It's never too early to begin your EPSO prep work. Even with the uncertainty of when testing will take place, keep your brain trained! The EPSO CBT can be surprisingly difficult, especially if you are not familiar with the methodology and the format. Get familiar with the facets of the reasoning skills test to lay the ground for your EPSO CBT practice through these focused training sessions:

  • Applications must be submitted latest by 21 November 2023 at 12:00 noon (Brussels time)

It's always a good idea to get a head start on preparing for the EPSO CBT, even if we don't know dates yet. First of all, it gives a really good base to learn how to approach the reasoning skills tests, and second, you get familiar with the methodology and format to increase speed and, eventually, your score.

LAWYER-LINGUISTS FOR THE COURT OF JUSTICE 

Although the application deadline has passed, EPSO has not yet published the number of applicants, we'll update it here when they do. This ongoing EPSO competition covers six language profiles.

EPSO ECONOMISTS AD6

This is another one of the competitions surrounded by controversy, with many candidates sending complaints, not only to EPSO, but also to the unions and to the Ombudsman. These issues are partially what led to the temporary pause on EPSO testing. Those candidates who experienced severe technical issues and could not complete their exams will be able to retest, however.

EPSO/AD/403/23 | AD7

  • Crisis management
  • Migration and internal security

This is one of the competitions that has experienced a lot of turmoil surrounding automated remotely proctored testing. EPSO received a deluge of complaints after the first round of testing. This has led to EPSO shutting down testing for an unknown period. But not before offering re-testing for those candidates who had issues with the system and therefore could not complete the tests.

ICT EXPERTS IN DIFFERENT FIELDS

EPSO's halt on testing has not affected this competition because this is one from the previous selection system, pre-2023, and these candidates are currently in the midst of their Assessment Centre.

EPSO CAST COMPETITIONS

If your CV is in the CAST database and you've been invited to sit the Computer-Based Tests, then you're in luck - because this is the last round of testing by EPSO this year, and maybe for a while for any competition, EPSO or CAST. So grab this opportunity to be best prepared so you PASS the reasoning skills tests the first time! Increase your test-taking speed, familiarise yourself with the methodology and ultimately improve your score. Prepare. Improve. Succeed!

EUROPEAN COMMISSION / EEAS INTERNAL COMPETITIONS

The European Commission recently opened applications for administrators, grade AD5, here are the details: 

  • COM/AD5/2023 (AD5) – Administrators
  • 120 candidates sought
  • Submit your applications by 27 November 2023 at 12:00 noon (Brussels time)
