Proofreaders / Language Editors (IT, PT, GA, ET, ES, EL) - EPSO/AST/148/21
Eligibility Checks have been completed with 465 Italian language, 150 Portugues, 15 Gaelic, 55 Estonian, 515 Spanish, and 540 Greek candidates moving on to the Talent Screener Review phase of the competition.
Next Steps: Those who score the highest in the Talent Screener Review stage will move onto the Assessment Centre which will include the following exams: Computer-Based Reasoning Tests inc. Language Comprehension, Competency-Based Interview, Situational Competency-Based Interview, and proofreading/correcting test.
Preparation Plan:
- While you keep your fingers crossed that you get invited to the Assessment Centre, you can use this time to start practicing for the multiple-choice reasoning tests as these can take a bit of time to master. Although you will only need to reach the pass mark in these tests, don't risk knocking yourself out of the competition and jeopardise your chance to participate in the rest of the Assessment Centre because you failed to do well in these tests. EU Training also has virtual CBT training sessions, as well as methodology webinars to help you get up to speed with the Verbal, Numerical, and Abstract Reasoning tests and Language Comprehension test.
- Competency-Based Interview. Start by watching this EPSO Competency-Based Interview Insights webinar. Then participate in a Virtual CBI Simulation Session to answer 'likely' interview questions and get feedback from an EPSO expert. Doing this now will allow you time to perfect your answers and gain suggestions on where/how you could improve further.
- SCBI. You will have to wait until EPSO releases the assignment pack (unique for each competition) before you can finalise your preparation for this exercise. These unique assignment packs are usually released by EPSO only a few weeks before the actual exam, so this is where you will feel the heat. Virtual workshops tailored to this competition's specific assignment pack will be organised once the pack is released. During these workshops, your trainer will delve deep into the specifics of the exercise and the content of the SCBI pack, giving you the opportunity to further develop your responses and enhance your understanding of the assignment through group discussions. CAST Exams
A new profile has been added to the CAST mix: Building management (CAST Permanent)
The testing periods of each CAST profile are published on the web pages of the different EPSO CAST profiles.
If you get invited to take part in the computer-based test you will need to complete a Verbal Reasoning Test, Numerical Reasoning Test, Abstract Reasoning Test, and a Competency Test or Language Comprehension Test depending on the CAST profile.
To get you comfortable with these tests and increase your test-taking speed we recommend that you complete some practice tests under exam conditions. We have special practice packages for each EPSO CAST profile. Also, methodology webinars (many are FREE) and online training sessions are also available to take your exam preparation to the next level.
