EPSO COMPETITIONS

Hi everyone,

I'm preparing the AD5 competition and I've noticed that depending on the language (I switch from Spanish to French or English), the difficulty of the exercise is different. I'm talking about verbal and numerical (abstract doesn't change). The easiest ones are in English, mainly the numerical ones, but verbal as well. The trickiest ones are the numerical in Spanish (with equations and 3 different calculations to perform). Did you notice this in your mother tongue as well? thks

I've got a question regarding the documents requested once you finally manage to get an offer as a successful laureate on a reserve list.

During the competition process, you should have already at some point uploaded all the necessary documents, which are validated before the announcement of the competition's results.

I recently failed the FGIV reasoning tests for the CAST-P selection procedure. Does anyone know, please, if I can I still be called to the CAST tests if I apply to the JRC's specialized Call for Expression of Interest (Researchers - Function group IV - COM/1/2015/GFIV – Research)? Or this profile falls under the other EPSO CAST-P rules (not being able to sit the test for 6 months)?

Hi you all, just passing by to leave my impressions on the exam, and hopefully get some back too. I though the Abstract Reasoning questions were much simpler than the ones presented here in EU Training practice tests, which was a good thing. The Verbal, Numerical and MCQ questions were about the same level in difficulty as the practice tests, but I still ended up leaving, at the end, about 2 questions unanswered each, which was really disappointing for me. I thought I was going to manage my nerves easily, but the time just flied when the exam was for real.

Question to the experts in these selection processes: how long can it delay?

Another way to ask this question. I asume there is a budget approved for increasing the staff in DG Transport and the succesful candidates might start in January or February (always that the EU budgets run from January to December).

I know that the process is to create a reserve list and the whole process can delay more than expected. But, how long?

Did I understand correctly that, all the content provided in the test by the candidate must be based on fully i mean 100% by the document you have been given?

For example, the topic in the written test could be something like writing about MaaS (mobility as a service) and I know a lot of it but I can't use external knowledge that I have, right?

if you took the CAST CBT on September 11, how was your experience?

I found the verbal reasoning a bit more challenging than my preparatory material, the numerical reasoning just as challenging, and the abstract reasoning a little bit easier than expected.

I was stressed about technical issues, but that was quite smooth. I just was unable to use any scratchpad and the calculator was somewhat adding to the time I used up for responding. But I guess there is no other way around that.

I took the FGIV exam yesterday at TestWe. 

I have to say that I encountered technical problems that prevented me from starting the exam at 1 p.m. It was only after I called France and after they sent me an additional guide on how to deal with these problems that I was able to start the exam....

I couldn't use the scratch pad at all either! I tried to follow the instructions but they didn't help.... I wasted at least 2 minutes getting the scratchcard to work.

Do you have any ideas who we should report such problems to?

Are you allowed to extend your laptop via HDMI to the second screen? 

Or do you must use only laptop's small screen if you don't have an external camera? 

Also, do you must have an external camera or is a laptop camera enough in a test situation?

Unfortunately, I just realized that in my EPSO/AD/412/24 application, I forgot to include one of my relevant work experiences. The issue is that without this experience, I do not meet the 3-year requirement. If I upload the contract related to this position when uploading the supporting documents (maybe including some relevant information), do you know if it will still be considered?
