EPSO Competitions: What’s Coming Next?

Dreaming of an EU career? Lots of exciting opportunities are just around the corner.

Below you will find a summary of all the upcoming and in progress EPSO competitions, so you can keep track of what’s coming up next and better prepare for these opportunities.

 

2018 EPSO Administrators AD5 competition about to kick-off!

Special mention needs to be given to the biggest EPSO competition released each year. That is, the greatly anticipated Administrators Generalist competition – otherwise known as the AD5.

Since this competition does not require any prior work experience (just a completed Bachelor’s degree), it offers a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and be well on your way towards landing a job at an EU institution.

What is expected in the first half of 2018?

In addition to the release of the Administrators Generalists completion, there are many more great opportunities on the horizon: 

  • Health and Food Safety – Audit, Inspection and Evaluation (AD6). Applications open 15 March, 2018. Deadline for applications 17 April, 2018.
  • Food Safety – Policy and Legislation (AD6). Applications open 15 March, 2018. Deadline for applications 17 April, 2018.
  • Administrators in the Field of Audit (AD5). Applications set to open in 22 March, 2018.
  • Heads of Administration in EU Delegations (AST4). Applications set to open in April 2018.
  • Lawyer-linguists (AD7). Court of Justice. Dutch, German languages. Applications set to open in May 2018.
  • Administrators in the Field of Data Protection (AD6). Applications set to open in May 2018.
  • Translators (AD5). Languages still to be determined. Applications set to open sometime in May-June 2018.
  • Archivists (AST3/AD6). Applications set to open sometime in June-July 2018.

Please note that these dates are still to be confirmed and should be used as a rough guide of what is expected in the near future.

 

Update on competitions currently underway...

2017 Generalist Administrators (AD5) Competition

The Assessment Centre testing phase has concluded, with the results of the Reserve List set to be released towards the end of April 2018. Best of luck to everyone that made it to the Assessment Centre – you’re on the home stretch now  

 

Research Programme Administrators (REA/TA/AD6/01/18)

Secretaries/Clerks (EPSO/AST-SC/06/17)

This competition’s computer-based test’s booking period is open! Candidates will have till 9 March, 2018 to complete this. The Pre-Selection testing period will start on 12 March and run till 13 April, 2018.

Linguistic Assistants (BG, DE, EN, FR, RO, SV) (EPSO/AST/144/17)

This competition’s computer-based test’s booking period closed on 27 February, 2018. The Pre-Selection testing period will start on 5 March and run till 5 April, 2018. Lawyer-Linguists - Court Of Justice (LV, MT) (EPSO/AD/354/17 and EPSO/AD/355/17)

Applications closed on 30 January, 2018. Those invited to the Translation Test will have successfully reached the required score in the Talent Screener. The preliminary test for this competition will be the Translation Test. Those that successfully complete this phase will move on to the Assessment Centre. The Translation Test booking period will run from 4-11 April, 2018.
This will be followed by the Translation Test itself from 25-27 April, 2018.

 

Financial Economics and Macroeconomics (EPSO/AD/339/17)

It appears that the computer-based reasoning tests (Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning) will be conducted as part of the Assessment Centre phase of the competition. This is based on EPSO having stated that 463 (Financial Economics) and 383 (Macroeconomics) candidates have made it to the Talent Screener phase. Lawyer-Linguists (DA, ET, GA, HR, LV, SL) (EPSO/AD/348 - EPSO/AD/353)

This competition’s computer-based reasoning exam period concluded on 25 January, 2018. Experts in Media and Digital Communication (EPSO/AD/347/17 and EPSO/AST/143/17)

This competition’s computer-based reasoning exam period concluded on 25 January, 2018. The next stage of the competition (Case Study) is expected to take place sometime in September, 2018. Proofreaders / Editors (DA, HR, MT, SL, SV, NL) (EPSO/AST/142/17)

Those invited to the Case Study phase of this competition will have successfully reached the required score in the Talent Screener. Those that successfully complete this phase will move on to the Assessment Centre. The Case Study booking period will run from 20-27 March, 2018.
This will be followed by the Case Study itself on 12 April, 2018.
The Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime in May 2018.

 

Building Specialists (EPSO/AD/342/17 and EPSO/AST/141/17)

Those invited to the Case Study phase of this competition will have successfully reached the required score in the Talent Screener. Those that successfully complete this phase will move on to the Assessment Centre. The Case Study booking period will close on 1 March 2018.
This will be followed by the Case Study itself for the AD6 profile on 15 March, 2018 and for AST3 on 16 March, 2018.

 

Translators (DE, FR, IT, NL) AD5

This competition’s Translation Testing period concluded on 2 February, 2018. No indication has been released by EPSO yet as to when the Assessment Centre will take place.
