EPSO CAST Opportunities

A whole suite of EPSO CAST (temporary contact agent) positions are available.

Register in the CAST database to be considered for such opportunities, but please note, with the CAST recruitment process, validating your application does not automatically mean you will be invited to a selection test.

As needs arise, EPSO's recruiting services team will search the pool of applications, to compile a shortlist of candidates whose skills and qualifications best match the requirements of the job being recruited for. Only candidates pre-selected by EPSO's recruiting services staff will be invited to sit a series of reasoning and competency-based tests for the relevant profiles and function groups.

You can apply to as many CAST profiles and/or function groups as you like, there are no limitations with this and will not affect your ability to participate in any other EPSO competition either.

EU Training offers simulated EPSO CAST exams:

Ongoing Competitions

Graduate Administrators (EPSO/AD/356/18) (AD5):
Best of luck to all the candidates who undertook the E-tray Exercise component of this competition. There were many questions this year about the direction that EPSO will take with this exam, following the practically impossible task candidates were faced with last year. Based on the preliminary feedback received from candidates, it appears that this year's E-tray Exercise was far more manageable, with most candidates expressing that they received 17 questions and 17 email, compared to the mammoth 21 received last year.

Administrators in the field of Audit (EPSO/AD/357/18) (AD5):
Best of luck to all the candidates that recently undertook the E-tray Exercise component of this competition. This phase of the competition wrapped up, on 12 October, 2018. Now candidates can relax and wait for the announcement of the E-tray results and when the Assessment Centre phase of the competition will take place. If this competition's timeline continues to follow last year's AD5 Generalists competition's timeline, we expect the Case Study to take place towards the end of January and the Assessment Centre to run from mid-January to mid-February.

Administrators in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (EPSO/AD/362/18 ) (AD6): This competition was released on 13 September, 2018, with the application period coming to a close on 16 October, 2018. Now candidates will have to wait and see what happens - will the multiple-choice computer-based test be held at the start of the competition or as part of the Assessment Centre? 787 applications have been received, it all depends on whether this number exceeds a certain threshold defined by the director of EPSO.

Assistants in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (EPSO/AST/145/18 ) (AST3): This competition was released on 13 September, 2018, with the application period coming to a close on 16 October, 2018. Now candidates will have to wait and see what happens - will the multiple-choice computer-based test be held at the start of the competition or as part of the Assessment Centre? 1444 applications have been received, it all depends on whether this number exceeds a certain threshold defined by the director of EPSO.

Armed Security and Protection Officers (EPSO/AST-SC/07/18 ) (AST-SC):
This competition was released on 30 August, 2018, with the deadline for applications coming to a close on 2 October, 2018. It looks like many applications were received for both profiles as the multiple-choice computer-based test will be the first stage of the selection process.  The Pre-Selection exams of this competition will consist of 20 Verbal Reasoning questions in your chosen Language 1 and 20 Field Related questions in your chosen Language 2. The results of the Verbal Reasoning Test will not be taken into account in your final overall pre-selection mark, BUT you must reach the minimum pass mark in this test to progress. Candidates will be selected in descending order of the marks obtained in the Field-Related Test, so it is really important to get the highest possible score that you can in the Field-Related Test, as only 8 times the number of successful candidates sought for each grade will make it through to the next round (656 for Profile 1 and 120 for Profile 2).

The Pre-Selection booking period is currently underway and will close on 26 October, 2018. The Pre-Selection exams will take place from 8 - 19 November, 2018.

Administrators in the field of Data Protection (EPSO/AD/360/18 ) (AD6):
