When results of preselction (EPSO/AD/315-320/15)

Does anyone know when the results of the preslection MCQ tests will be available for this competition? It is already 6 weeks after the last testing period (13 OCT) :/

I have asked EPSO the same questions already 3 times, still no answer.
I had a look at the last years translation competitions: they published the MCQ tests results in candidates' accounts around 4 weeks before the translation tests. Since the translation tests should take place February 1st-5th, my guess is that they will publish the results on January 4th (after the end of their Christmas closure).

Well, for what it is worth, the head of one of the translation departments at the Commission (who was actually speaking on a different topic and just mentioned this by the way) told us that the results are expected either this week or the next week. So hopefully something will show up before the 6 December.

hi, do you have any updates? it's so unfair, keeping us waiting. I even tried to comment on the epso blog, but the system wouldn't even register my comment... bah.

orsoly Wed, 12/09/2015 - 12:07

I honestly wonder what takes them so long, though. It's not like they have to evaluate and compare essays...

j.m. Wed, 12/09/2015 - 13:20

And it's not like we were so many candidates either...

Personally, I would accept to wait but I would prefer not to be ignored when asking the same question 3 times. In the past, they were at least polite enough not to censure you and reply “We don’t have this information. Please consult regularly the indicative planning” even though the indicative planning does not tell you anything about the publication of intermediate results.

Also, if as j.m. mentioned, the results are in fact announced "around 4 weeks before the translation tests", which took place in February last year (and it is not even mentioned in the indicative planning for this year...), then why tell us that they will be out 6 weeks after testing? It would be more fair to say they won't be out until January...

I have got 44/54 (I am a little bit disappointed for my languages tests results).
What about you?

j.m.I have got 44/54 (I am a little bit disappointed for my languages tests results).
What about you?

well, congrats, I would say you are definitely in, maybe depending on which language are you going for?

auvergnat Fri, 12/11/2015 - 16:23

i have 41.8.. /54. I do understand, that the final result doesn't have to be an integral number, I don't understand though how I can have 16.8../20 in test a/. Doesn't matter, I am confident, in Slovak /option 1, cca 300 candidates/ this could be fine, with a little bit of luck.
What are your result?

j.m. Fri, 12/11/2015 - 16:43

@auvergnat:
Some of you might wonder why your results for computer-based admission tests are not a whole number. This might be due to the fact that the Selection Board decided to neutralise some questions in the admission tests. If a question has to be neutralised, the available points are divided over the remaining questions. This factor accounts for the threshold not being a whole number.

Having checked for all candidates, the neutralisation of questions does not have a negative impact on their results.

j.m. Fri, 12/18/2015 - 11:21

I have just received the admission letter to the translation center in my EPSO account!

orsoly Fri, 12/18/2015 - 11:22

congratulations, guys, i suppose you have all been admitted. I missed the threshold by .6 points... :(

j.m. Fri, 12/18/2015 - 11:29

sorry to hear that, orsoly. don't give up. personally, it's my 5th competition in 2 years and it's the 1st time I've made it to the 2nd round.

orsoly Fri, 12/18/2015 - 11:31

oh, thanks. it's quite annoying, especially as I only apply to linguist positions and they don't announce them that often. Anyway, good luck to you all, and hope to hear your success stories soon!

auvergnat Fri, 12/18/2015 - 11:52

I am in as well. By 0,6 poitns...sorry to hear that, bad luck, really. How can I find out the threshold for my competition? There is no such thing in my admission letter. Thanks.

orsoly Fri, 12/18/2015 - 12:00

I think only non-admitted candidates will actually see the threshold.

auvergnat Fri, 12/18/2015 - 12:02

@orsoly- thanks a lot.
