September slowdown... but things are brewing
EPSO is still stretching its legs after the summer break - no major updates on their site just yet, aside from a nod to EU Days Lund, Sweden’s annual EU forum taking place later this month. It’s shaping up to be a big one, with talk of sustainable prosperity, EU defence, and 30 years of Sweden in the EU. A solid lineup, even if it’s not a selection test.
That said, September should bring a bit more action. The AD7 Building specialists competition is expected to open soon, and we’re keeping a close eye out for the long-anticipated AD5 Generalists NoC. Meanwhile, internal competition candidates are heading into the Oral Test phase, and we’re helping them prep like pros.
Our team is definitely not on holiday, between workshops, new prep packages, and live events, there’s plenty going on. András Baneth will be hosting a webinar on how to land that EU job from an EPSO Reserve List, and we’ll be running two free webcasts, including the ever-popular Ask Me Anything session. Let’s get into it.
What’s coming up soon
CAST exam | 11 September
The next CAST test is just around the corner. If you’ve been invited, it’s time to sharpen your reasoning skills. There’s still space in our Numerical Reasoning Workshop on 4 September, so don’t wait if you need a last-minute boost. Or check out the Reasoning Skills Webinars, some are free!
AD7 building specialists | Applications opening
The Notice of Competition is set to drop on 16 September, with applications opening the same day. We’re expecting four profiles, and we’ll be diving into all the details during a free info webcast hosted by András Baneth on 17 September. A great chance to get up to speed and ask your prep questions early on.
Lawyer Linguists (CJEU) | Translation Review test
This stage is just weeks away, so if you’re still working through practice materials, now’s the time to ramp things up. EPSO released a tutorial video to walk you through the format - definitely worth a watch.
COM internal competitions | Oral Test phase
The next phase is here: oral presentations and interviews are being scheduled, with some test dates already reported for as early as 9 September. Coaching and workshop sessions are in full swing. If you're progressing in this competition, don’t delay your preparation.

AST3 Communication
EPSO hasn’t refreshed the indicative date, but based on what we know, testing is likely happening on 29 October. This includes the reasoning tests, field-related MCQs and the EUFTE. And we have great news! The prep packages for all three profiles are now available, including simulations for both the FRMCQ and EUFTE components.

New workshop
Clear Writing
Whether you’re preparing for an EPSO written test (EUFTE) or just want to improve your writing skills, this general skills workshop focuses on clarity and precision in communication. Through examples and exercises, you'll learn how to write with more impact.
Note: This is not specific to the Written Test or EUFTE, but is still highly useful for building strong writing foundations.
