How many questions are considered necessary to have a shot at passing? I take you are not expected to answer them all, but I guess Arboreus has a good idea of how many you have to answer at least.
Well, it is impossible to answer all the questions in 6 minutes. I would consider that from 22 to 25 answered questions is more than an acceptable performance. If you want to pass the test, you need an aggregate mark of 40 points for Accuracy and Precision and Prioritising and Organising.
As Accuracy and Precision is so difficult, I try to focus on verbal and abstract tests.
For the SC-1 last year I did it the other way round. I focussed on accuracy and precision. In the CBT I managed to answer 34/40 with 30 correct answers. But I think it was the best result I ever had in this stupid test.
Therefore I scored only 14/20 in verbal reasoning which I found was rather AD than SC level.
Fortunately last year there was no numerical or abstract reasoning...
Any tips on how to improve it? I can´t get to any better than answering 18 or 19 questions, I don't read them and try to be fast but obviously I'm not doing it very well.
Oh this is the test where we have to find the mistakes in the line from a table, yes? I thought it was the most difficult one of the 4 tests. I could only do 21 questions. I should've practised before going. The forth one, the one with timetables and such, there were only 24 questions. I thought I'd read somewhere that it'd be more questions.
Good luck on your tests! :)
yes , I thought too the same! In their notice of competicion they specified 40 questions of prioritising .....I have my tests booked for 1 st april!
secondly...about these 40 questions on accuracy and precision....can someone who allready attented at this 2015 exam tell us what objects we will find in these tests?
I can do all.. sometimes I do a bit less, but never less than 35 :)
What is your porcentage of right answers? Could you tell us the number of your right answers for this test in previous years?
Mostly I do it without any errors, sometimes it's 1 or 2, so still it's higher than 90% ;)
Stan, on my test I remember the icons 'cellphone', 'projector', 'swimming pool', 'gym'.
I found the abstract reasoning test the easiest (I don't know if that translates into a good score, though ahaha), and the verbal and the accuracy ones the hardest. I did it yesterday morning. Now I have to wait about two months to know the results, yes? Bleh.
In what language did you take it? I've read the verbal tests sometimes are difficult because the translation is not very good.
I took it in portuguese, Eugenia :)
I think the translation was ok, at least for the 20 questions that I got. But I thought the texts were too long. There were only two or three questions that had noticeably shorter texts.
Thanks a lot.
And is it true that those questions are not related to EU issues like someone said in other post?
Eugenia, the questions in the verbal reasoning have absolutely nothing to do with the EU. They are more general texts. Doing good on the practice tests here is therefore not a guarantee that you will do equally good on the real test, at least this has been my experience.
By the way, this year the verbal for SC1 was just as difficult as for the AD competition! WTF?!?!
