EPSO released the results of the 2017 Translators competition's computer-based test phase.
UPDATE 27 November 2017:
The number of candidates invited to the translation tests and the threshold have been released:
- German Language Translators (DE) EPSO/AD/343/17
- Option 1: Number of candidates 41 / Threshold 42
- Option 2: Number of candidates 22 / Threshold 44
- French Language Translators (FR) EPSO/AD/344/17
- Option 1: Number of candidates 28 / Threshold 39
- Option 2: Number of candidates 29 / Threshold 45
- Italian Language Translators (IT) EPSO/AD/345/17
- Option 1: Number of candidates 49 / Threshold 47
- Option 2: Number of candidates 20 / Threshold 47
- Dutch Language Translators (NL) EPSO/AD/346/17
- Option 1: Number of candidates 37 / Threshold 44
- Option 2: Number of candidates 34 / Threshold 40
According to the Notice of Competition, approximately 4 times, but no more than 5 times, the number of successful candidates sought for each competition and option will be invited to take the next phase of the competition, the translation tests.

1. TRANSLATION TEST
Approximately 4 times, but no more than 5 times, the number of successful candidates sought for each language profile and option will be invited to this stage of the competition.
UPDATE Published on the EPSO website 22 November 2017:
- Translation tests – booking period will be in January 2018 (indicative)
- Translation tests - end of January 2018 / February 2018 (indicative)
The Translation Test will include the following:

If you fail Test A, your Test B will not be marked.
You must score one of the highest total combined marks for this test to qualify for the next stage of the competition – the Assessment Centre.
2. ASSESSMENT CENTRE
Approximately 2 times, but no more than 2.5 times, the number of successful candidates sought for each language profile and option will be invited to the Assessment Centre.
The test taken at the Assessment Centre will need to be completed in your chosen Language 2.
Eight general competencies will be tested through 3 tests:
- Oral Presentation
- General Competency-based Interview
- Group Exercise
The marks obtained in the Translation Tests and the Assessment Centre tests will count towards your final overall competition score, which will be a total out of 80 – 10 points per competency.
3. RESERVE LIST
After checking candidates’ supporting documents, the selection board will draw up a Reserve List (for each language profile and option) of those eligible candidates who have obtained the highest overall competition scores, until the number of successful candidates sought is reached.
