Hello,

I open this thread to comment about this competition, Research Programme Administrators (REA/TA/AD6/01/18), to be elegible to work at the Research Executive Agency (REA).

Although just finished the Assessment Centre tests from AD5 generalists, one never knows... I will apply for the "Engineering, ICT, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and/or Space science", with 30 positions at the reserve list.

Thanks for opening this thread (especially for those who don't use FB) and congratulations on your AD5 success!

Do you or does anyone else know when they plan to conduct the tests? Can we guesstimate the approximate timeline for the booking period and testing period in advance for better planning purposes?

Just curious..

Also not sure about how they decided to separate the disciplines and for ex., split chemistry from life sciences and put it with the math and space engineering. Especially tough for people with a multidisciplinary profile. If your degree is in life sciences but your professional experience is in say, math, engineering or chemistry, does this mean that you will be disqualified if you compete in the first category because your education happens to fall in a different category? A bit rigid in my opinion.

If anyone has any thoughts, please feel free to share. They take a long time answering such questions and they have already specified to look at the categories in the back of the document (the Annex) but that still doesn't answer my question. Maybe I'm the rigid one here in my thinking, trying to read their mind but I have heard it can be very cut and dried.

About the tests calendar, I think all we can do is requesting formally to EPSO.

Regarding your doubts about the profile considerations, I would pay attention to the talent screener questions (Selection criteria, Annex I of the NOC). 7 out of 8 questions come directly from professional experiencie, meaning, in my opinion and being totally ignorant of the relative importance of every question, that your past experience is much more important than the field of your degree. E.g. if you have worked ten years granting subsidied to R&D TIC companies and your degree is Biology, what do you would consider more important?

On the other hand, and texting literally the NOC, I cannot see a serious risk of disqualification because of a non-pertinent degree. See the "Specific conditions":

A level of education corresponding to at least 3 years' completed university studies attested by a diploma, followed by at least 3 years of professional experience directly related to the nature of the duties.

Please, notice that ANY diploma in ANY field of knowledge will be valid to meet the Elegibility Criteria. A very different point is how a non-related degree will be rated at the very important talent screener evaluation (and, accordingly, in the field interview).

The NOC is my bible, oh yeah.

With regards to the Selection

With regards to the Selection Criteria and weighting process, it is unknown, but at least we know that a single criterium cannot be four times more important than other.

the Selection Committees will first assign each selection criterion a weighting that reflects its relative importance (1 to 3) and each of the candidate's responses will be awarded between 0 and 4 points. The points are multiplied by the weighting for each criterion and added up to identify those candidates whose profiles best match the duties to be performed.

Yes, you'll receive a physical calculator and an online one will be also available on the screen for the numerical component of your test.

Hi, does anyone know when the "Assessment Phase" will take place? The EPSO website doesn't provide information yet..

Does EU Training have specific material that applicants can use to train for this phase of the competition?

The results of the tests REA/TA/AD6/01/18 are available in the Epso account.

However I do not see any average value or typical deviation figure to assess the probabilty to get into the next phase.

Anyone knows where to find it?
