My Overall Thoughts

Anna Tue, 07/11/2017 - 05:58

I sat the CBT for the Administrators competition today.  I think that the website does a wonderful job in preparing candidates for the verbal reasoning tests, an okay job at preparing for the numerical reasoning, and a not so good job at preparing for the abstract reasoning.  For the numerical and abstract reasoning tests, please try to change the test formats somewhat to make them coincide more with the actual EPSO exams.  Also, please try to offer the numerical reasoning questions in more languages.  I was used to doing the numerical reasoning tests in English and lost a lot of time when undertaking them in my mother tongue today.  In essence, I knew what had to be done but given that I had practiced them in English, the information was not sinking in as quickly, and I lost a lot of valuable time.

This is very useful feedback.

This is very useful feedback. I completely agree that in order for the preparation of candidates to be more complete and as close to the real exam conditions as possible, numerical exercises should be provided in more languages. I also agree that the format of both numerical and abstract exercises provided here are different than the ones at EPSO exams. Verbal reasoning exercises in other languages are the main asset of this platform. For the rest there is room for improvement.

Hello,

I had the CBT today in Brussels and my overall impression is that the difficulty level on the abstract reasoning part was higher that expected.

The numerical reasoning tests were average to easy, with only a few complicated ones towards the end of the test. The verbal reasoning questions were fine in difficulty level, however ,I found them too long and including a lot of details. You can easily trapped re-checking your answer when you realise that the time left is not too much..

The abstract reasoning was of average difficulty in the first part and of high difficulty in the last 5-7 questions.

My personal suggestion is that this site includes some diffult abstract reasoning questions in its preparation tests. In terms of numerical and verbal I am happy to have used this site to prepare.

Good luck everyone.

I sat CBT for the Administrators competition some days ago and I also had difficulties with the abstract reasoning questions. It was not only the degree of difficulty but mostly that they were of a different philosophy than the ones in EU TRAINING. I also ended up answering question randomly. I was very dissappointed, I believe I should have studied abstract reasoning form the book, although it is too late now.

The verbal and numerical reasoning were as expected.

I took the test on the 17th

I took the test on the 17th in Thessaloniki and I found that the verbal reasoning texts were twice the size of the tests on this website and the abstract reasoning was considerably harder. I did 100 questions in the abstract reasoning but I found that the logic in the actual exam had little to do with the tests I was provided with here in order to prepare.

I haven't got my resuts yet, but I'm not optimisitc and I am very dissapointed in the service provided, especially considering it came at a cost. I put a lot of personal effort in preparing for the exam only to find that it was different to what I was lead to expect. I will apply again for a position with the EU but I doubt I'm going to be using this practice service again
