MCQ test issues with Prometric

Hi everybody!

I am candidate in EPSO/AD/391/21 - 1 - EXPERTS IN TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO MEMBER STATES’ STRUCTURAL REFORMS (AD7).

I got serious issue with the platform Prometric. I specially rent a room in a good hotel to have a dedicated internet connection. I succeeded to connect, to get inspected and to do the first part verbal reasoning. After the break, I succeeded to finish the numerical reasoning but was disconnected for the abstract reasoning. I tried to connect several times, always succeeded to get inspected, but never succeeded to reach the last part of the exam. I tried to contact support (because when you try 3 times it is not possible to have test, you have to contact support), but nobody is answering, even a few days after. I issue a complaint to EPSO and PROMETRIC (who already answered that they would not answer quickly because of covid-19 situation). I really do not know what will happen, if they will take my results or if I have to do all again. That's not a good sign for the institution and for the people wishing to join.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you´ll get an answer from Prometric. What is important and you´ve done correctly I think, is complaining within the right time limits and by using the means specified either in the notice of competition or in Prometic instructions. Your experience is very worrying for some of us who will be doing the same kind of tests very soon. We already had to endure the torture of booking the tests in Prometric platform, a neverending and very frustratring process wtih a new system that got stuck all the time. To be honest with you and as a long-term candidate (I´ve got many competitions on my back), the first stages of EPSO selection processes and EU selection processes in general have taken a turn for the worst: it seems to me that they actively seek to discourage candidates by making registering and booking exams more difficult and prone to mistakes and errors. They will call it 'a resilience test' but in practical terms they only seek to frustrate and discourage the less motivated. My advice is checking again which deadlines they have to answer to your claim and using all possible means you might have to complain, even the ombuds(wo)man if neccessary. They might say, against you, that by using a hotel connection you did not fully control the Internet connection, so make sure you have arguments against that or they will reject your claim. Hi! I complained and got answer that I had to make a new exam (it seems the whole exam again). I will do it in exam center which is fortunately opened right now. No excuse, no explanation, a very cold and administrative way of behaving. It is not very good to attract people :-)
