Hi folks,
Did anyone make the lawyer linguist competition one week ago? I would like to exchange some impressions about it.
Does anyone know when the results of the preliminary translation tests would get out? How will the selection board evaluate the proofs?
Hi Andrea!
Hi Andrea!
I took the preliminary translation tests in January, for a french lawyer-linguist position… I have no idea about the evaluation but I suppose that results will be available end of march, like last year?
What did you think about the test? I found that the second one (language 3) was quite difficult, like much more difficult than the first one.
Hi Nat,
I made it for the Italian s one. Actually, the day I took the test, I asked the worker about the waiting time before something happens and he answered to me some news could get out within 3 weeks. Unfortunately I do not know what he meant for “ some news” and it seems nobody can provide a clear answer. Everything related to this competition appears like a mistery :) .
Regarding the difficulty of the test - at the end of the day- I could not say there was a big difference between the tests. I found, off course, the first proof (French) easier than the second one from the perspective of the language complexity (I am Italian) but, on the other hand, the second test (German) was shorter than the first one, so I think they were balanced.
Which languages did you take the tests? Did you make it last year? What’s your idea about the assessment criterias?
Longing for more
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
I completely agree that the lawyer-linguist competition is a mystery! I took the preliminary tests for the Spanish lawyer-linguist competitions last January and still don't have the results. Is this also the case with other languages?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to prepare the specific competency-based interview?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Barbara, it seems the
Hi Barbara, it seems the French's results are available. So far as I understood just 17 candidates were invited to the assesment center who are competing for 15 posts. On the epso s web page you can read " "the information is not yet available. We will update this message as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.".
It sounds a little weird that only 17 people passed the preliminary tests. Perhaps the cited test was the whole competition but nobody adviced us! By the way I did not receive any information about the test I took. I start thinking bad things about it. I wonder whether just people who passed got the information about their results.
I have no idea about preparing the specific competency interview.
Bye
Hi Andrew,
Hi Andrew,
Thanks very much for you reply. It all seems, indeed, very strange! I hope they don't only send the information to the people who passed .That would be quite unfair!
Good luck.
Hi Barbara, I noticed the
Hi Barbara, I noticed the Spanish results have been published. What about you? Could you give me some information? Do you know how long it will take before the Italian s results come out?
If anyone else knows
