Hi,
I have on the reserve list on an AD6 competition. I wonder if I should prepare for the upcoming AD5 Generalist competition.
Be on a reserve list doesn't guaranty recruitment, so it is better to be on severals. But if I am already in AD6 reserve list, the recruiting services for AD5 will know that I prefer to go in AD6 position, they may not recruit me.
I think it is worth to prepare all competitions, keep applying, because nothing is done at this point. And still, it sounds quite inefficient to prepare for an AD5 competition.
Thanks for your comments.
Hi,
Hi,
It appears that your question has already been addressed (https://eutraining.eu/content/laureate-ad6-whats-next), However, for your convenience, I have included our expert's response here as well for your reference:
"Thank you for contacting EU Training. Please kindly note that your query has been forwarded to our expert, please find his response below:
"I am pleased to confirm that on the more reserve lists you are placed, the higher your chances, of being offered a post.
The following scenario is not unusual: You are placed on the upcoming ad5 reserve list and offered a post on the basis of this competition. A few weeks later, you are contacted by a department interested in your ad6 profile (I suppose a competition for specialists). If you accept the ad6 offer, you will then be appointed at this ad6 post taking up a function corresponding to the domain of this competition. In the meantime I encourage you to prepare for the ad5. Should you be offered the ad6 job, you can simply withdraw from the ad5 procedure (don’t withdraw before having taken office). I trust the above has clarified your questions. Wishing you every success with the ad5 Pcompetition and above all a speedy ad6 job offer"
If you require further assistance, I recommend scheduling a session with our great expert, Mr. Gillis, who will be happy to support you in the most effective way possible. You can book a session using the following link:https://eutraining.eu/products/personal-coaching?meta=products_coaching-session_application-assistance-oaching_172202#application-assistance-oaching-with-luc-gillis "
Thanks for the kind answer.
Thanks for the kind answer.
I was glad to be on the reserve list, and now I realize that nothing is done. Vacancies are published regularly. Some are not exactly related to my competition. It is a good point, some laureate may be interested. It is beneficial to see beyond the vacancies only for one competition.
But I will have to wait for a vacancy in my filed, and then many of the laureates of my competition will apply at the same vacancy. So it is very challenging.
So I should definitively prepare for the AD5 competition, as hard as it is.
