Hi all,
have anyone been recently hired (first hire, from an AD list, not internally) and how long does it take currently between getting an informal email from the head of the selection commission that "congrats, we will hire you" and getting anythign formal? Also, which papers one is required to submit to the HR dept? We planned a vacation trip soon, but as I don't know which papers I might need to submit and when I will be asked to submit them, I am very reluctant to go for holidays (which doesn't make my family happy). And it altogether is quite nerve-wracking currently...
Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
The EU bodies recruit
The EU bodies recruit officials on the 1st and 16th of each month, except in August. The HR services apply a policy of reasonable flexibility regarding the date a successful candidate will take office. The span between the date you are offered a job and the date you join the EU public service can easily run up to 2 months. During this delay, the administrative recruitment process has to be finalised, and you have to undergo a medical check-up.
If you haven’t been contacted for an interview, I believe you can go on holiday, provided you check your email and EPSO account regularly and can be contacted by phone.
If you are offered a job, the recruiting EU body will send you a list of documents to submit. It may include: your qualifications, professional experience, marital status, persons in your care/charge, passport or ID, etc.
But can you say anything
But can you say anything about the order of the procedure -- like submitting docs, once they are checked, then getting a medical test appointment or all happens at the same time? Like do you know the steps of the full process, which follows which?
Thank you for your follow-up
