How to prepare for the 25 October EPSO Statisticians exam

Only ten days to prepare for the EPSO Statistician exam? We can help! Here’s a breakdown by type of test, with a sample prep plan at the end.

EPSO CBT | Reasoning Skills

Workshops

You’re in luck! Three workshops are happening this week, and all of them start at 17:30, and last for 2 hours - there’s your daily practice covered for those days.

Recorded webinars

You’re daily practice also counts if you watch a webinar - you’re probably ready for Pro Tips at this point in your preparation, although the Beginner's series is free..

Practice questions

Put the methodology you learned in the workshops and the webinars into practice with these CBT practice questions.

EPSO WRITTEN TEST

EPSO published the document last week, so you have already probably had at least a glance at it. (Pssst… you can find the document here).

Webinar

The EPSO Written Test Methodology Webinar not only gives great insight on how to improve your written communication skills but you’ll get practical advice on how to analyse the document, craft a solid ‘narrative' for your written response and make the best use of your time.

  • You’ll also get access to additional analytical documents to give your prep work a boost.

Written Test Simulation + Evaluation Service

This is probably the most valuable tool in your preparation toolkit. Choose a submission date, write your response using a provided sample assignment, and receive an expert evaluation the following day.

Slots are filling up fast - and it’s first come, first served.

Click here to access the EPSO Statisticians Written Test Simulation + Evaluation Service. and book yourself a slot.

Field-related MCQ

Our question writers put together a comprehensive list of resources used to create the questions.

Practice questions

Do these in Practice mode and take your time, if you’d like. But we highly recommend using Exam mode because the strict time limit is what gets many candidates in the end.

Prep Plan

If you’re the type of person who needs a little more structured guidance, we’ve put together a possible prep plan to help you get ready for the exam on 25 October 2024. Or, create your own here with the Prep Plan Generator.

Daily

  • 1-2 hours reasoning skills practice
  • 1 hour field-related MCQ practice or studying resources

Every other day

  • Add 1-2 hours Written Test prep
    • document analysis
    • response-writing practice
    • test simulation
  • This means reducing your reasoning skills and field-related MCQ practice by 30 minutes each

October 22 and 23

  • Do one full CBT reasoning skills test in Exam mode
  • Do one full field-related MCQ in Exam mode
  • Review Written Test document and your notes and analysis, and any evaluation you may have received

October 24 - the day before the exam

  • 15-30 minutes each of CBT and field-related MCQ / practice or review
  • 15-30 minutes reviewing EPSO’s written test document, and any notes or analysis
    • Try to do these first thing in the morning, but as early as possible, so that in the evening you can just relax
  • Relaxation - whatever it is - yoga, hot bath, breathing exercises - do something to clear your mind and fully relax
  • Eat healthy and drink plenty of water
  • Avoid watching TV/movies and switch your phone to ‘Do not disturb’ early in the evening
  • Get to bed as early as you can
