- The EPSO field-related MCQ will be specific to your chosen field.
- Need to reach the pass mark, as well as be among the highest scoring.
- Candidates who reach the pass mark will be ranked per field in descending order according to their scores.
- The ranking will be used to determine whether or not candidates will have their Written test scored and eligibility checked, and to establish the reserve lists.
c) EUFTE | Language 2
The EUFTE is a type of Written Test
- It only assesses written communication skills.
- It is not a language test.
- The pass mark is 5/10.
- The public document on which the assignment will be based will be about general EU matters, and not field-specific.
- The EUFTE document will be published on the competition profile page about two weeks before the exam date. This is not a language test.
On exam day, for the EUFTE you will:
- get the assigment (not available before exam day)
- have 40 minutes to write your response to the given assignment
- have access to the document on the day as well, for reference.
-
WRITTEN TEST SCORING + ELIGIBILITY CHECKS
Only a select number of candidates will progress to the next stage, where their EUFTE will be marked and their eligibility reviewed. This stage phase comes with a few key restrictions:
- Scoring of the EUFTE and the eligibility verification are carried out in parallel.
- Only those ranked among the top scorers in the field-related MCQ test (up to 1.5 times the number of places on the reserve list) will be considered.
- If multiple candidates tie at the threshold score, they will all be included in this step.
- The eligibility check involves cross-checking application declarations against the documents uploaded.
- Anyone who falls outside of this ranking band will be excluded from the competition at this stage, i.e. their EUFTE will not be scored, nor will their documents be reviewed.
-
RESERVE LIST
After the EUFTE scores and eligibility checks are finalised, EPSO compiles the reserve list. Here's how it works:
- To make it on the Reserve List, candidates must:
- Achieve all required pass scores,
- Rank among the top scorers in the field-related MCQ, and
- Be confirmed as eligible based on their application and supporting documents.
- The selection board compiles the list in descending order of MCQ performance, stopping once the number of successful candidates is reached.
- The final reserve list is not ranked. Names are published alphabetically and shared with the relevant EU institutions for recruitment purposes.
- EPSO will only inform candidates of their results if their tests were scored and their documents were assessed. If a candidate didn’t make it to this point, they won’t receive further feedback.
- Important: Being placed on a reserve list means you're eligible for recruitment, but not guaranteed a job offer.
