New EUFTE sample solutions, 19 policy briefings and EPSO AD5 workshop changes

With EPSO applications for the AD5 Graduates competition now closing, preparation needs to become the priority. That is exactly where we come in, with updated tools and resources designed to help you prepare more effectively for what comes next.

At EU Training, we have recently rolled out several important updates designed to make preparing for EPSO competitions more practical, more realistic and, frankly, less annoying. These changes focus on three key areas: Written Test / EUFTE simulations, EU Policy Briefings, and the AD5 Overview workshop.

Here's what's new:

Written Test and EUFTE simulations now give you more prep value

This is one of the biggest recent improvements for candidates preparing for the Written Test or EUFTE.

Our Written Test / EUFTE simulations now include a sample solution. So when you complete the simulation, you do not just practise on a similar platform under strict time pressure, you also get to see what a strong response to the task can look like.

We've always provided the document on a random EU-related topic - just like on the real exam. But this is now supported by a study grid and a video explainer to help you analyse the document and prepare a better answer.

And as always, if you choose to get your response evaluated, you will receive another completely different sample solution alongside personalised feedback on your own response.

That means the basic simulation now gives you more practical guidance, while the evaluation option adds expert feedback and a second model answer to learn from. For Written Test and EUFTE preparation, this is a serious upgrade.

EU policy briefings: fully updated & expanded to 19

Our EU Policy Briefings have also had a full refresh.

These documents have been updated so that the content reflects policy developments and changes since the previous version.

On top of the full update, we have also added a brand new policy briefing: Development and International Cooperation Policy

This brings the total number of EU Policy Briefings to 19.

The nice part? The bundle price has not changed. So now you get:

That is more content, more coverage, and better value without any price increase. A rare and beautiful thing in today's world, don't you think?

These briefings remain one of the most efficient ways to build stronger background knowledge on major EU policy areas, whether you are preparing for EU Knowledge tests, written exams, interviews, or simply trying to sound like you know what comitology is without breaking eye contact.

AD5 Overview workshop after the application deadline

The EPSO AD5 Overview workshop is also getting an update. Once applications close on 10 March, we will remove the sections on: how to apply and the Single Candidate Portal.

This is an obvious change. Once the deadline has passed, you do not need another explanation of where to click and which portal tab to fear. You need help with the tests.

Therefore, this workshop will shift its focus to more preparation for what comes next. Most importantly, we are adding test simulations to the:

  • EU Knowledge
  • Digital Skills

sections of the presentation.

These will allow you to practise on a similar platform, with similar time pressure, just with fewer questions so the simulations fit naturally into the workshop format. Think of it as a realistic sample of what the actual testing experience may feel like.

You'll get exposure to the style and pace of the test environment, not just a theoretical explanation of what might appear.

This will also help reduce that familiar EPSO problem where someone understands the test on paper, then opens the platform under time pressure, and freezes.

In short, the updated AD5 Overview workshop will become more relevant to EPSO candidates who have already applied and now need to prepare in a more focused and efficient way for the next stage.

EPSO exam preparation made more concrete

All of these changes have one thing in common: they make preparation more concrete.

One of the biggest mistakes candidates make is staying too long in passive preparation mode. Reading about the exams is useful. Understanding the format is useful. But at some point, candidates need to see realistic examples, practise under pressure, compare strong responses, and work with materials that actually reflect the current EPSO environment.

And that is what we, at EU Training, strive to provide to you, the EPSO candidate.

So whether you are working on your EUFTE document analysis strategy, trying to build stronger EU policy knowledge, or getting ready for the post-application phase of AD5, there is now more value built directly into the resources you already use.

Here is a quick recap of what is new:

  • Written Test / EUFTE simulations: the basic version now includes a sample solution
  • Evaluation option: includes expert feedback plus a different additional sample solution
  • EU Policy Briefings: fully updated and now expanded to 19 briefings
  • New policy briefing added: Development and International Cooperation Policy
  • Bundle price unchanged: still 60 EUR
  • AD5 Overview workshop: application-related sections removed after 10 March, with EU Knowledge and Digital Skills test simulations added instead

EPSO test practice questions inventory

I was surprised by this too when I checked - we currently have nearly 42,000 questions in our database which we are constantly updating, expanding and correcting based on your error reports and our own ongoing quality checks. Here is the current inventory of some of the most popular practice question types available on the EU Training platform.

  • EPSO AD5 EUFTE - 6 simulations
  • EU Knowledge MCQ - 1,512 questions
  • Digital Skills - 500 questions
  • Abstract reasoning (English) - 1,783 questions
  • Verbal reasoning (English) - 1,849 questions
  • Numerical reasoning (English) - 1,291 questions

If you are preparing for EPSO exams in the coming weeks, now is a very good time to make use of these updates.

Because while EPSO may enjoy keeping candidates on their toes, your preparation tools should at least have the decency to keep up.

Wishing you the best of luck on your exam!
