In fact, two recently released competition have application deadlines by early September so make sure you don't miss out! EPSO CAST Opportunities
The good news with these temporary contract positions is that there is no application deadline. However, you must complete your registration in the CAST database (and regularly update it) to be considered for such opportunities. In April a new CAST permanent category was added to the list of opportunities - Child Care Staff - FGII. In September a new category will be introduced - Educational Psychologists - FGIV.

Armed Security and Protection Officers (EPSO/AST-SC/07/18 ) (AST-SC): This competition will be released on 30 August, 2018. Deadline for applications will be on 2 October, 2018 (12:00-noon Brussels time).
Administrators in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (EPSO/AD/362/18 ) (AD6): This competition will be released on 13 September, 2018. Deadline for applications will be on 16 October, 2018 (12:00-noon Brussels time).
Assistants in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (EPSO/AST/145/18 ) (AST3): This competition will be released on 13 September, 2018. Deadline for applications will be on 16 October, 2018 (12:00-noon Brussels time).
Educational Psychologists (CAST Permanent) (EPSO/CAST/P/20/2018) (FGIV): As mentioned above this new CAST category will be activated sometime in September. No specific date has been indicated by EPSO yet.
Administrators in the field of Customs (EPSO/AD/363/18 - 1) (AD7): This competition will be released on 11 October, 2018. Deadline for applications will be on 13 November, 2018 (12:00-noon Brussels time).
Administrators in the field of Taxation (EPSO/AD/363/18 - 2) (AD7): This competition will be released on 11 October, 2018. Deadline for applications will be on 13 November, 2018 (12:00-noon Brussels time).
Heads of Administration in EU Delegations (Location Non-EU cities): Still no specific details on this competition's exact release date - sometime in Autumn 2018.
Ongoing Competitions
Graduate Administrators (EPSO/AD/356/18) (AD5):
The Pre-Selection exam for this competition took place between 4 June – 13 July 2018. Now candidates are eagerly awaiting their exam results to see who has successfully progressed to the next stage of the competition - the E-tray Exercise.

Lawyer-Linguists (Court of Justice) (EPSO/AD/359/18 - NL, EPSO/AD/358/18 - DE ) (AD7):
Deadline for registrations was extended and closed on 3 July, 2018. There were 96 registrations of the Dutch language profile and 200 registrations for the German language profile. Now applicants await the announcement of the booking period for the Translation Tests. EPSO has not yet indicated when this will be.

Health and Food Safety Specialists (EPSO/AD/340/18) & (EPSO/AD/341/18) (AD6):
63 Health & Food Safety candidates and 112 Food Safety candidates have progressed to the Assessment Centre stage of this competition. The computer-based multiple-choice reasoning exam will take place at the Assessment Centre and will cover the following tests - Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, and Abstract Reasoning. The Case Study exam for both profiles will be completed on 7 September, 2018.
The Assessment Centre will take place over slightly different periods for both profiles:
Health and Food Safety: 12 September - 4 October 2018
Food Safety: 11 September - 25 October 2018

The Pre-Selection exams of this competition concluded on 16 May, 2018. With the results of the Talent Screener having been recently announced and successful candidates will be invited to the Assessment Centre phase of the competition.

The Translation Tests for this competition concluded on 27 April, 2018. The Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime in September 2018, but no specific date has been released yet.

This competition has now reached the Assessment Centre phase. The Case Study exam for each language profile will be completed on 6 September, 2018.

This competition is at the final stages. The Case Study was completed by both profiles on 14 May, 2018. Financial Economics candidates undertook the Assessment Centre between the dates of 28 May – 10 July 2018, while Microeconomics candidates are about to undertake theirs between 10 September – 10 October 2018.

The results of the Pre-Selection computer-based tests for this competition were announced at the start of last month. 504 SC-1 profile candidates and 305 SC-2 profile candidates have progressed to the Assessment Centre stage of this competition. The Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime between October and December 2018, but no specific dates have been released by EPSO yet.

The following number of candidates have made it to the final Assessment Centre round of this competition: Communication Specialist 164, Webmaster 39, Communication Assistant 99, Visual Communication Assistant 102. There are no clear dates specified by EPSO yet as to when the Assessment Centre tests will take place. Currently, the Case Study is tentatively planned for the end of October, with the Assessment Centre expected to take place any time between September 2018 and February 2019!
