Dear All, I have been invited in an eliminatory test for the European Medicine Agency as (AST 3). The test will consist of a written task(s) corresponding to the profile chosen in my application and multiple choice questions about European Union.. Any of you is familiar with EMA selection procedures? How I have to prepare myself for this test? Thank you for your help. Mariac

Hello Maria,

I have a similar test planned with the EMA for a different position. I am not sure but i am trying to find out too. Have you been able to find anything useful to help you prepare? especially for the multiple choice questions about the EU?

Thanks for sharing if you have anything useful.

Hi Lamsi,

honestly I haven't found anything useful yet. I'm just preparing myself, as regarding the EU, on this website and randomly surfing the European Commission pages

https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/a5ba7...

By the way for the other part I don't know what to expect...and you? Do you have any suggestion or find anything different?

Thanks you too for sharing if you have other news.

Mariac :)

Hi Maria. I have been invited

Hi Maria. I have been invited at the same eliminatory test too.
I have never attended EU recruiting before... I suppose everything will be rather hard. I believe we don't need to prepare or specifically study, perhaps just about Europe. I think there won't be any math or logical tests... according the information received, at least. What do you think?
And what about the written tasks test? Do you have an idea about what expecting? I haven't.
By the way... are you Italian too?? Francesco

Hi Francesco,

I have already attended an eliminatorytest but for the JRC and this will be totally different. Unfortunately you cannot know exactly what to expect. I will read and try to synthesize history, policies, etc of the EU. For the other part, hope there will be only technical exercises probably related to the softwares in the call.

Yes I am Italian too :)..thanks for sharing if you come accross or find anything useful.

Hi Marianconcetta how are you

Hi Marianconcetta how are you?
...what about your eliminatory test in London? Was the assessment including EPSP questions? How many participants?
Hope you have been successfull. Well, I did'nt attend since in the meantime I had been invited for a second step (interview) for another EU positions I had applied and in which I was more interested. I am now in the third step and can't wait to see the final result!
Let me know.
Francesco

Hi there! I sat the test and

Hi there! I sat the test and unfortunately the participants are not supposed to give information on the test itself. But if they have invited you, there is nothing to be afraid of with this test and not much to prepare. You need to draw on your professional experience and it is then a matter of how you do compared to the other candidates.

Regarding the multiple choice test on the EU, you can prepare with the videos here on EU Training or do some research on the basics on Wikipedia. There are two books I used, which go into more detail, "The European Union. A very short introduction" by John Pinder (10 €) and "The new Practical Guide to the EU Labyrinth" by Daniel Guegen (25 €), but you don't necessarily need them.

My question: has anybody been invited to an interview for this recruitment campaign yet?

Hi! I went last september to

Hi! I went last september to EMA for the written test. I didn't pass it. Anyway I noticed that the score of the written was absolute nonsense: there was a section of the evealuation scheme called "Important problems" that I had to identify and I was quite successfull, I identified the 75% of them; the second task was to write a short comment about the problems identified and I obtained ZERO points, as if I left the paper in white...I identified the right problems but with totally wrong arguments? I asked If it was possible to know what were the criteria used to assign the points, but of course - like any other EU competition - transparency are completely avulsed from EU recruiting system... I was wondering if anybody had a similiar experience in EMA or any other EU competition (it's not to say that if I had obtained a score in line with what I obtained in all the other score voices, I would have pass to the neaxt phase...)
