E-tray feedback

Dear all,

After having fisnhed our E-tray test, I would like to enhance you all to express your views and feedback.

In my opinion, the real exercise was far more difficult than expected and for sure much more convulated and longer than those from EU training. I am sure that Arboreus has done its best in order to improve their materials, but I am afraid their efforts have not been enough. Definitely, there is stil a big room for improvement. I used to get around 28.8 and 72% (scores corrected after the bug) in the Arboreus mock exercises. I am sure that my score in the real exam is well below this mark.

I was not surprised by the numer of questions as, since the notice of competition was different regarding this matter, I figured out that the exam was to be longer than last time. However, it was the type of questions that stroke me so much. I was not even able to manage with the degree of detail and the countless acronymes and names that I found there. Additionally, the e-mails were, apart from so numerous, longer and much more difficult to handle than expected. I just managed to read thoroughly two or three of them plus another six or seven that I swiflty skimread, leaving the rest simply unread.

Once I had read these two or three (for me) essential e-mails, I used around 40 minutes to answer. As referred prior, most of questions (and answer options) were extremely detailed and plagued with acronymes, so it took to me around 2 minutes each to response to them. During the remaining 4 minutes I stepped back on some responses and I still made some changes. Even though I was able to finsih it on time, I must admit that I replied mostly based in the question wording, consulting the e-mails in a so limited number of cases (mainly when the question made reference to a particular person or mail).

My overall impression, and so that one of the peers that I met in the exam room, is not optimistic at all. I realised since the very first minute of the exam that I was not able to digest all that amount of info in the allotted time. Because of this, I put all my pre-conceived strategies aside and committed myself simply to finish the exam on time, despite it had to be done mostly based on my intuition.

I felt sad and defeated when I left the exam centre. Now, some days later and after reading some opinions in some other forums, I am aware that the vast majority of people shared my feelings. However, there is always that tiny portion of gifted folks that turned out saying that they were able to read through it all, to take some useful notes and of course to finish on time judiciously answering to all questions. This minority will be in my opinion where from the people admitted to AC will be picked up. Congrats to them, they well deserve it. In my case, despite I will wait for the results, of course, I think I will have to look for a new opportunity next time.

Well, as I said prior, I would like you to express your views and even guess where about do you think the passing mark will be this time. My bet is around 26,5-28.

By the way, I would also like to get some info, about the expected date for the results release aswell as for the Case Study.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi everybody,

I would like to share my opinion, too. The E-tray tests from Eutraining improved dramatically compared to the previous ones, they seem very similar to the exam ones.

About the length, we knew that there would be a lot of information to digest, but to me this test seems more SJT style than verbal reasoning. I mean, there were questions where only by their wording you could realize how would be their outcome, it is no point to try to read all the information (it would be impossible, anyway).

Good luck to everybody!

Hi Amalia,

Unfortunately I do not agree with you as regards the Arboreus' e-trays are similar to the real one. Not whatsoever, I would say. The real exam is way longer, the information was well spread over the e-mails and there were some clashes which were deliberately set there to lead you to error. This is something that does not currently happen in Arboreus tes where the info regardin each question is frequently included in just one e-mail.

Moreover, this was not a SJT. It seems a foolish statement but the bare truth is that this is one of the  big mistakes that some people (me included, of course) tend to commit when they feel prompted. The answer cannot be guessed based uniquely upon the question's and options' wording, at least not sistematically. On the other hand, there were some smart people able to digest all that terrible amount of info and give their answers properly grounded on it. Those were a tiny minority, of course, but 248-310 out of 2.2218 are also a tiny minority, isn't it...??.

Anyway, this is of course just the outcome of my personal judgement and I cold be totally wrong. It could be a very good news for me that you are right, believe me.

In just a few weeks we will see the answer to this quest coming out. Let's hope I am wrong enough.

Good luck to everyone.

Kind Regards.
