AST-SC/03/15 CBT RESULTS

Anonymous (not verified) Mon, 05/25/2015 - 10:32

Does anybody knows when AST-SC/03/15 CBT results will come out or have I been forgotten????
Thanks guys

Mi Mon, 05/25/2015 - 10:53

Hi, It was stated, that the results will come out not earlier than at the end of May :) So we still have some time.

avra0206 Mon, 05/25/2015 - 11:52

Thank you Mi.......good luck to you too!!

S.Lang Fri, 05/29/2015 - 16:13

Still no news....

Marta Fri, 05/29/2015 - 19:56

4-5 weeks which means a few months, again? :D (like previous AD generalist competition last year). But the number of candidates is incomparably less now so maybe soon will get our results. Fingers crossed :)

avra0206 Mon, 06/01/2015 - 17:24

Well......what happens for those who get throgh the next phase? How much time will they have to get prepared if they keep on delaying the results??

sidfo Mon, 06/01/2015 - 17:58

Typically, a month. The indicative planning says that those in Field 2 (Financial support) will attend the assessment centre in July and all others in September. Hopefully we will all know our scores soon.

By the way, for those in field 2, does anyone know what the "finance skills test" may entail? Epso doesn't have any such sample test on their website.

avra0206 Tue, 06/02/2015 - 11:12

Hi Sidfo...try here for financial field ass. centre even if.....maybe you already read that information...I couldn' t find anything more specific...you can also adress your question to EUROTRAINING ARBORIUM (preparation site)...they will certainly help you....good luck!!

unai92 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 12:13

Results have already been published!
I got 93.017/110
What about you?

Mi Thu, 06/04/2015 - 12:38

I don't see anything.. Did you get a message on your EPSO acc?

Mi Thu, 06/04/2015 - 12:41

And for what field did you apply?

unail92 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 13:00

MiAnd for what field did you apply?

Yes, I have received them on my EPSO account. I applied for the financial field. As the AC is in July, our results might have been publised earlier than the other 2 profiles.

Ami Thu, 06/04/2015 - 13:01

Hi, I am also interested in knowing more about the Financial test and and the practical test of drafting skills.
I have no clue about the first one. Is it a case study or multiple-choice one?

I

shelly Thu, 06/04/2015 - 13:04

I got 81.333/110. I also applied for the financial field.
Earlier I received an email from EPSO, they asked for more details about my diploma. And I hoped it means that I passed. But now I'm not sure at all.

Serena Thu, 06/04/2015 - 13:17

Still no results:-(
Does anybody get the results for secretarial SC2 field?

avra0206 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 14:58

Still nothing for secretarial field SC1!!! At least not in my account......

roxy Thu, 06/04/2015 - 15:28

Nothing for me too for secretarial.

Mi Thu, 06/04/2015 - 16:01

Nothing for administration field as well

malfas1 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 18:43

I got a 74/110. I only scored 20/40 on the precision test. oops.

avra0206 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 22:16

It' s ok malfas1. Next time....your score was good anyway!

malfas1 Thu, 06/04/2015 - 22:35

Aww, thank you Avra :) I hope you get a great result.

Maya Fri, 06/05/2015 - 11:11

malfas1I got a 74/110. I only scored 20/40 on the precision test. oops.

Hi, I am waiting the results for administrative department and I am wondering what is the threshold to be invited to the next phase? how many points do you need to go further in this competition, I mean only those with the highest score like 90 will be invited to participate in the further exams, or also those with lower marks like 75, or everybody who reached the pass mark?

thank you!

simka.s Fri, 06/05/2015 - 11:18

last year the min score was really low. Mane people with high score including myself were considered as ineligible by EPSO. If you are sure to be elligible, I wouldnt even worry.

For Croatian language: SC1: 60,66/110
For English language: SC1: 58,50/110
For French language: SC1: 76, SC2: 75,83/110
For German language: SC1: 63,00/110

Maya Fri, 06/05/2015 - 11:28

Hi! thank you for your reply, but how do you mean ineligible - they didn't accept your diploma or professional experience?

simka.s Fri, 06/05/2015 - 21:04

exactly! As I dont have University diploma in the field of competition... they did not consider my Master and experience as relevant... I am sure of very good score this year, but lets see about the eligibility issue
Good luck to all of you! hope to get results soon

Eugenia Fri, 06/05/2015 - 22:57

I got 80.299.

I thought that wouldn't be enough but I'm sure that I'm elligible. But after reading you, maybe I still have a chance.

How long does it usually take them to say who is invited?

Lila Sat, 06/06/2015 - 07:26

I got 102 this time 😊, think I'm eligible, now just wait and see... Last time it took them 2 weeks to send invitations.

Sophie Sat, 06/06/2015 - 08:03

I think that even the lower results should not worry because the number of applicants this time was very low. In the financial field the applicants were 2097 (SC1: 789, SC2: 1308). Pretty sure that at least half of them did not passed the exam. Good luck to everyone and don't lose hope if you have score over 70/110.

Dj Sat, 06/06/2015 - 22:01

Does anyone have any idea what is the structure and the content of the "finance skills test" applicable to SC1 Financial Field? How can we prepare for it?

Mi Mon, 06/08/2015 - 14:51

Other results are also out. How did you guys do? I got 104.895.. Quite happy :)

Elisa Mon, 06/08/2015 - 15:07

And finally they gave us our results! I did the administrative test and I got 90.333, not so high but it could be worse, I'm happy with it. What do you think will be the minimum mark?

Julius Mon, 06/08/2015 - 15:13

I got 96.175. Better than I thought actually, but still not sure if it's enough.

Mi Mon, 06/08/2015 - 15:29

How many did you get in a precision one?

Julius Mon, 06/08/2015 - 15:55

31/40 but I only managed to answer 34 questions in the time given. I have scored 38,333/40 in prioritising and organizing, but it's a mistery to me how one could get 0,333 points for for an answer which is either false or true.

simka.s Mon, 06/08/2015 - 16:03

administrative support - 97/110
super happy with score, accuracy and precision: 34, prioritising and organising: 40/40

Hope I am eligible this year...

amor1205aquarius Mon, 06/08/2015 - 18:25

Hello, I have also reached the pass mark but have only 76 points, maybe If I will be lucky enough and eligible, I will go further, what is next the Assessment center exams in Bruxelles? what is your experience with those tests?

Julius Mon, 06/08/2015 - 19:56

A remark for any of those who might be reading and plan on taking these tests in the future: I feared abstract reasoning the most, so I have spent most time practising them thus I received 10/10. Practise does make perfect :) I wished I had spent more time on precision tests, so I'd feel more calm now :)

igna Mon, 06/08/2015 - 20:48

I got 98.333, much better than I thought. This year I think I'm in the next phase ;)

Teresa Tue, 06/09/2015 - 08:56

I got 81,2, it is not a very hight mark but I feel well as it is the first time I do the exams. I think it will take some time for EPSO to announce the passmark as they have to announce before the passmark from financial support...they have the assesment center in July!

lauragilro Tue, 06/09/2015 - 12:54

I got 90,333, in administrative field, better than I thought. We will have to wait... Fingers crossed!

roxy Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:01

For secretary: 72,667

helen Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:10

I got 85,122 secretary field.... Hope to reach the passmark! Do they use to take a long time to announce the threshold?

kas Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:19

I've got 84 in secretary. I am afraid it is not enough for assesment :( Maybe next time.

Serena Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:35

Hello, I got 78,632... I really hope it's enough!

Frenchie Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:39

Hi,

I have 101,333 in Secretary. So proud! 40/40 on the precision test!!

Good luck to everyone :)

m.mortou@gmail.com Thu, 06/11/2015 - 09:55

OmG Frenchie! You did great! Congrats! I only managed 90/110.... Hope to be among the best with you!.... :(

TT Thu, 06/11/2015 - 10:18

Hello... during the waiting time...I have done the next mini-study:

2014:

croatian language: 40 places. 298 applications. 63 invitations to assesment center. 60,6/110 passmark
english language: 70 places. 1271 applications.299 invitations to assesment center. 58,5/110 passmark
french language: 56 places. 1340 applications. 200 invitations to assesment center. 75,83/110 passmark
German language: 21 places. 119 applications. 23 invitations to assesment center. 63/110 passmark

2013:

accountability: 51 places. 135 4948 applications. 135 invitations to assesment center. 92/120* passmark
finances: 32 places.3524 applications. 82 invitations to assesment center. 92/120 passmark
legal matters: 28 places.3889 applications. 75 invitations to assesment center.92/120 passmark
* I am not sure about total punctuation fro this tests is 120

2015:

Administrative support (sc1): 104 places. 2720 applications. __/110 passmark
Financial support (sc1): 80 places. 2097 applications: ___/110 passmark
Secretaries (sc1): 147 places. 2440 applications: ___/110 pasmark

If the 120 máximum punctuation of 2014 is 120 and we traslate it to a base of 110...this would mean that the passmark in that case would be 84,3....having in mind that we have more places this year and less applications the result would be a passmark lower tan 84,3 for the case od administrative support..

THIS IS ONLY INDICATIVE AND I AM CONSIDERING SOME PREMISES THAT I AM NOT ABSOLUTLY SURE ABOUT (AS THE MAXIMUM PUNTUATION IN 2014)..SO, DON´T TAKE IT TOO SERIUSLY!!

What do you think about?

Lila Thu, 06/11/2015 - 10:31

Total punctuation for 2013 tests was 110, but you should take in consideration the fact that there was also SJT included and the number of P&O and Acc questions was half lower, which alltogether affects the odds for treshold, so I think that this time treshold should be lower than 92.

lauragilro Thu, 06/11/2015 - 13:09

Thanks TT! And I hope you are right Lila and treshold is lower than 92, in fact I hope is 90, and I will be in! Fingers crossed! The waiting is the worst...

Eugenia Thu, 06/11/2015 - 13:15

The results for secretarial support have been already published too.

Good luck to all of you!!

The ones who took the financial support tests will have to keep on waiting for the pass mark, and the AC is next month... I hope they don't take much longer

avra0206 Thu, 06/11/2015 - 14:58

Didn't pass....unfortunately.....only 70,......!! How many times will I have to try it out and try it out again......I guess it's becoming more of a challenge with myself rathere than a challenge to get an EU job one day.....good luck to all of you who are waiting the final response for AC tests and to those who' ll finally go to BXL for the the second step......

Maya Thu, 06/11/2015 - 15:49

Hi, how do you know you didn't pass? you didn't reach the pass mark or you have received the answer from EPSO that it's not enough points to go to Assessment center? I have also only 76 points in the competition for administrative department, and I don't know if I have any chances to go further...

avra0206 Thu, 06/11/2015 - 17:57

Maya they told me I didn' t reach the pass mark. You still have hope!!

amor1205aquarius Thu, 06/11/2015 - 18:02

Oh I am so sorry, I wish you all the best in the next competitions! maybe all of us will be colleagues one day! :-)
Yes, the hope is the only thing left...

avra0206 Thu, 06/11/2015 - 18:25

Thank you amor.....so kind of you....by the way I forgot to tell Maya not to worry ....I would have been out anyway because for just one question I didn' t reach pass mark in maths.......so.....don' t be influenced from my results.....go forward!!! Good luck!!

tessalonikki83 Thu, 06/11/2015 - 23:25

Sophie T Fri, 06/12/2015 - 11:13

Hi, I would like to know what is the passmark for financial support SC1 and SC2... Thanks a lot and good luck to all of you! Sophie

Eugenia Fri, 06/12/2015 - 14:55

I can't believe it!!!! I've just been informed that my "diploma is not related to the nature of duties" in the financial field. I have a degree in Economy, what do I have to study then?

Unbelievable!

Eugenia Fri, 06/12/2015 - 14:58

Do you know if I can complain about it? And if so, is it worth?

gaby35 Fri, 06/12/2015 - 15:16

I have just received the same message "non admission" due to diploma and experience, although I have an university economy degree and more than 9 years experience in finance, while I have chosen SC1 profile. I can't believe it!!! I am also interested in filing a complain about it, but I don't know exactly how. Does anybody know the exact procedure?

amor1205aquarius Fri, 06/12/2015 - 16:39

I don't understand how is that even possible? with university degree in economy, which is finance, and 9 years of experience, and for SC1 degree? can anybody tell me which diplomas are accepted than?????

JaGyGy Fri, 06/12/2015 - 16:47

The procedure which must be used is described in the document "General rules governing open competitions", http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=OJ:C:2014:060A:TOC, see section "3.4.3. Internal review procedure".

Before requesting a review, it would be useful to take a very close look at the competition notice and check the tasks list. Economics and finance are such vast fields that just because someone has a degree in "economy" and work experience in "finance" it does not necessarily mean that they have an education and work experience required for this competition.

In the Competition notice, the tasks for the Secretaries/Clerks in the field of Financial support are described as follows.

"The tasks are varied and may include:

— handling budget implementation files in compliance with financial rules in force (administrative monitoring of invitations to tender, preparation of contracts, monitoring of related transactions, etc.),
— bookkeeping,
— checking invoices,
— recording and monitoring of validation of transactions (commitment proposals, payment orders, recovery orders, data relating to contracts and contractors, etc.),
— handling invoicing and collection schedules,
— handling financial files, including correspondence, filing and archiving."

Are you really convinced that your training and/or professional experience are "mostly related to the nature of these duties"? And importantly, can you support this with evidence?

However, if you truly feel that there has been a mistake, it if of course very important to request a review. The selection board is not infallible; they make mistakes and such mistakes will be rectified.

"can anybody tell me which diplomas are accepted than?????"

This is just a case of course, but I would say that for example a degree in economics with accounting as a major would be accepted as being relevant to the duties.

simka.s Fri, 06/12/2015 - 17:59

oh gosh! sorry to hear that many of you are ineligible as me last year...fill in the complaint, maybe it will help and then will change those weird eligibility criteria for next year at least.

Good luck!

Sophie Fri, 06/12/2015 - 18:21

Same here. I have university degree in Economics, which includes subjects in Finance and accountability, but I received letter of Non-admission too. I still don't understand where is the problem.

antare Sat, 06/13/2015 - 10:07

Field 2 – Financial support:
Publication of admission results in candidates’ EPSO accounts: 12/06/2015
Number of candidates admitted: SC1=160, SC2=63
Number of candidates non-admitted: SC1=93, SC2=27
Number of candidates non among the best: SC1=189, SC2=527
Minimum score needed : SC1= 76,667 and SC2= 85,667 points
Reassignement from SC2 to SC1 = 41

avra0206 Sat, 06/13/2015 - 17:15

I think it' s your legal right to fil in a complaint...you have nothing to lose! What I really think it's they we are so many candidates that they have to proceed to a severe and cruel selection....

avra0206 Sat, 06/13/2015 - 17:31

My question is: shouldn't it be better to proceed at first at applications selection (diplomas, working experience, etc.) and then go to CBT and be selected or not based on passmarks? So much study for nothing without even knowing if we' ll be eligible and having passed among the best? I think this is a legitimate question to think about.....

If they would start with eligibility check the resources needed would increase a lot (they will need to verify a very large number of applications).
In fact, for some compétitions, if the number of candidates is 'reasonable' they do start with eligibility and talent screener eventually and the reasoning tests are a part of AC.

You are certainly right about that but on the other hand that is why a whole EPSO DG COMMISSION was established...for that kind of jobs.....when I used to work in the European Commission it didn' t even exist...anyway.....I didn' t pass this time....but I am so sad for those who did excellent job during CBT and now they are out....it' s such a disappointment.....it' s a pitty!! Thank you, Avra. I fully support your idea to proceed first at application selection. And even to make clear the requirement of the diploma because "related to the duties" is not at all. What is the right diploma for "financial support"? Accountability, Economics, Business administration? Many diplomas could be "related to the duties". I will fil a complain to understand why my degree in Economics is not related but I don't expect much then a formal response send to everyone, who dares to ask. I'm so disappointed. I spent so many hours to prepare myself and when I saw the result I was pretty sure to be admitted to the next stage. Anyway... Just what is my guarantee for the next time? 0

Dana don' t give up. First of all fill in your complaint ON TIME in order to get at least an answer....it' s imperative to know WHY your diploma was not related so you are not going to apply next time if it' s not appropriate......it' s just a loss of time and a kind of psycological trauma!! Once you learn that, remember that there are AD competitions during the year concerning your degree in economics....have you tried that yet? Or maybe you can specialize further your knowledge or diploma in economics in order to "be related" as much as possible with the duties of the Ast-asc competition we just had next year. Have also a look in "Eu Temporary posts" in which a lot of economics studies and working experience are required in different kind of EU agencies all over Europe and different kind of posts. Never give up!! I worked 3 years in the European Comm with fixed-term contract because I gave it a chance so many times and finally got in......be stubborn!! Happy to discuss whenever you want....

JaGyGy Sun, 06/14/2015 - 16:53

"You are certainly right about that but on the other hand that is why a whole EPSO DG COMMISSION was established...for that kind of jobs....."

There were 2 097 applications to the financial support field (and more than double that for the other fields).

In the current climate, when all Commission DGs are expected to make drastic cuts in the number of posts, there is no way on earth EPSO would be allocated the resources needed for a detailed check of the education and job experience of all of those applicants. It's simply not feasible.

Around 600 applications is still a feasible number to be checked in detail, and that's why in the competitions for highly specialized fields, the CBT is only organized as the first stage if the number of applications exceeds that number.

So next question which is also legitimate JaGyGy....what do you think about the fact that having to cut drastically the number of posts in every DG they still go on announcing OPEN competitions of that level? Don' t you think it' s quite of a contraddiction in this "current climate" as you fairly mention? Maybe I abuse myself...but something seems pretty strange and wrong in general...as a whole mechanism....anyway...happy to read a comment....How did it go for you if I can ask?

There were 2 097 applications to the financial support field (and more than double that for the other fields).

In the current climate, when all Commission DGs are expected to make drastic cuts in the number of posts, there is no way on earth EPSO would be allocated the resources needed for a detailed check of the education and job experience of all of those applicants. It's simply not feasible.

Around 600 applications is still a feasible number to be checked in detail, and that's why in the competitions for highly specialized fields, the CBT is only organized as the first stage if the number of applications exceeds that number.

JaGyGy"You are certainly right about that but on the other hand that is why a whole EPSO DG COMMISSION was established...for that kind of jobs....."

Julius Sun, 06/14/2015 - 18:52

Avra, I guess people are retiring and/or leaving EU institutions for other reasons and there is a need to fill at least some of these places. Maybe if "current climate" would be better, there would be much more places up for grabs :)

JaGyGy Sun, 06/14/2015 - 19:26

Julius, that is exactly correct. These competitions are still needed, but the number of laureates for sure is smaller than it would be if none of the job cuts were needed. Someone actually raised this question in connection with the ongoing AD generalists competition; for more info please see my answer in that topic:

I'm happy to say that I never will need to do another EPSO competition again, having done mine already quite some time ago, and now very happy with my job. I follow this discussion forum because I hope that people maybe sometimes can benefit from the viewpoint of an "insider" (but I want to make it 100 % clear that I don't work for EPSO and have nothing to do with the competition processes etc.). I also write purely as a private person and do not pretend to represent the Commission in any way.

This year is the first time I am taking EPSO tests, AST and AD both, and by the looks of it, there is nothing stopping anybody from getting to at least AC stage. Some tests are difficult, that's true, but they are all managable if you study enough. I am quite content with my score in AST competition and I believe my result will be worse in AD, but that just reflects my preparation - for AST I studied a lot and there was nothing that surprised me during the test. I ran out of time for precision and accuracy, but that means that I just need to study more. For AD I barely studied at all, so I can't say I am surprised that I had to guess half of AR tests and have no idea how I did on SJT. Some may ask: why study more oon AST and not for AD, which should be more difficult and more rewarding? My strategy is that I believe I should start from the bottom and gain experience in EU institutions as an assistant before attempting to get to administrator position. Even if I'd get to reserve list in AD competition, I don't think my current CV would be interesting to any EU institution looking for administrator, but add to it 2-3 years of working as an assistant in the EU and that may be all the difference. Just trying to think a step ahead. Maybe this way of thinking can be helpful for anyone else too.

I totally agree with you Julius....that's why instead of applying for secretarial ASC2 (or administrative), even though I have more than 10 years of experience in the two fields, I prefered to apply for secretarial SC1 (not even SC2)...I guess it' s a question of not been "greedy" and be willing to always start from the beginning in order to get more (instead of less........if you know what I mean.....)

TT Tue, 06/16/2015 - 09:38

Dear all,

Some people in Spain is considering reporting the problem of the exclusion to the spanish permanent representation at the same time that they fill the questionaire to ask EPSO for the matter of the exclusion. MAybe it is a good alternative measure. There are two more disciplines that haven´t been informed yet (administtative support and secretaries...) it is possible that after the information there will be more people affected. It is very important that they give more precision about the necessary conditions to take part in this competition... it will be better also for them!

arturo Tue, 06/16/2015 - 10:41

It's seems pretty obvious to me why someone with an economist diploma won't be elegible to compete for a competition for secretaries or clerck. An economist doesn't have the skill of a secretaries and vice-versa.

You need to have a diploma relative to secretary's task, even if this is for financial suport. Some extra diploma in the field of finance/accounting would help, but they want secretaries, not expert on worldwide regulation.

It amaze me how people who don't even understand what it takes to do a certain type of job hope to get a shot at that same job.

TT Tue, 06/16/2015 - 13:27

Arturo, the problema of the exclusión doesn´t seem to be the diploma. If you read the first messages you will check that some people have been invited to the assesment center and has the economy degree...that is the problema...the exclusión criteria are not clare and that id what EPSO should clarify.

titibab Tue, 06/16/2015 - 13:31

TT, I didn't see those messages (and I can't find them) but maybe those people also have relevant secretaries/clerc diplomas or experiences to go along with their degree in economics.

JaGyGy Tue, 06/16/2015 - 14:33

There is no "exclusion criteria". EPSO does not use exclusion criteria any more, and has not done so for years. This is an important distinction because there was a time when indeed people were excluded from certain competitions if they had a university degree. But as said, this has not been the case for many many years now.

No-one was excluded from this competition because they have a degree in economics or whatever.

However, certain people were not allowed to the next stage because, according to the view of the selection board (which is the only view that counts), they do not have the following:

- Post-secondary education of at least one year attested by a diploma relevant to the nature of the duties

or

- Secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, followed by at least three years’ professional experience mostly related to the nature of the duties.

or

Professional training (equivalent to European Qualification Framework Level 4) of at least one year, followed by a minimum of three years' professional experience. Both the training and experience must be mostly related to the nature of the duties.

Plus for SC 2:

- At least four years' professional experience mostly related to the nature of the duties.

titibab Tue, 06/16/2015 - 14:37

I agree with Jagygy. People were not excluded from the competition because they had a degree in economics or in whatever but because they didn't have a diploma and/or experiences link to the duties of the job.

avra0206 Tue, 06/16/2015 - 14:49

That is why each time a competition is announced they ask FIRST OF ALL to read very carefully tha vacancy notice.......

Grovat263 Tue, 06/16/2015 - 14:57

And if you can't read properly a competition notice, you stand very few chances of ever getting a EU position.

Just saying...

Hello,
I saw the EPSO examples for AC here http://europa.eu/epso/apply/sample_test/index_en.htm.
Can anybody suggest how to study for the AC? Eutraining doesn't have specific trainings to buy.
Any advice?

Hi Stefania, I'm based in Milan.
Eutraining wrote to me they have personal training only for this test.
What kind of material do you have? Can we share it via email or Dropbox?
I can pay for it as I really have no idea where to find something useful.

thanks for your help.

@Stefania

Hello Stefania,

I'm also interested in discussing this matter. I'm located in Brussels.. If you want we can meet up.

Kind regards.

Julius Mon, 06/22/2015 - 10:48

So it's been 2 weeks since the results were published and more than a week since audit assistants got their invitations to AC. Does anyone from their experience know if it's normal to wait for so long for AC confirmation for administrative and secretorial assistants?

Nida Mon, 06/22/2015 - 11:38

I don't know if there is such thing as 'normal' with epso, but usually there are a lot of delays, so I think there is nothing specifically wrong with this competition, it is just taking more time then planned. I am taking part in the AST 3 competition, we got our results on 28 May and still no answer if I was admitted to the AC or not, so I guess more then 2 weeks is not the worst case... Last year administrator competition results instead of end of July were published only in September, so just keep calm and wait....

trollepso Tue, 06/23/2015 - 14:39

AC invitations for administrative and secretarial clerks will be published some time next week, according to information coming from EPSO.

Stefania Tue, 06/23/2015 - 17:03

Hoot@Hoot
Hello Hoot,

Definitely we could meetup. Which field have you applied for? Could you please give me an email address to reach you?

Kind regards.

Vic Thu, 06/25/2015 - 16:42

They said results will be out sometime next week

Sere Tue, 07/07/2015 - 13:58

Still no results for AC for administrative and secretarial.
Any news? Maybe by this week?

Maria2015 Wed, 07/08/2015 - 20:18

Do you know how to contact them to ask for this? The rules are we aren't allowed to contact any Selection Board members, so I suppose there must be another way to obtain news (there are two people in this forum giving news from EPSO). Is it possible to call or send an e-mail to their office and to obtain an answer? Thanks a lot.

Administrative support SC1
"Non admission to AC" message received today.
Explanation: not meeting the conditions for degrees/diplomas + not meeting the specific admission conditions regarding qualifications /diplomas /professional experience.
My score: 71/80.

Good luck to those admitted to AC!

Well done Julius.
Can you tell us which is the minimun score to be admitted to the AC?

Waiting for secretarial now...

Julius Thu, 07/09/2015 - 17:36

It was not mentioned in the message. I guess we'll have to wait for announcement in EPSO page to know the minimum score.

Irene Thu, 07/09/2015 - 18:34

I was admitted to AC. Is there any preparations for Assessment centre here? I found E-tray but I don´t know if this will be for administrative.Good luck.

For Sere and Julius:

I found this Spanish page:

Where they say which the minimun score for Administrative Support is. But I have no idea about where they've obtained the information from.

Good luck!

I don't find nothing about this exercise of the AC.

I did the assessment in July for the finance field. The drafting is a little essay (20 lines at least) about a subject that you pick there (out of 3 options). If you can express your opinion in the particular language 2, you can pass it, don't worry!

marykit Fri, 08/14/2015 - 17:45

Thank you as well for the info. I have some questions regarding the travel and subsistence expenses. I checked the rules and they say that an accommodation allowance will be given only in case the AC lasts longer than 1 day. What about us, are we supposed to fly to Brussels in the morning of the AC?! (In my case it starts at 08.15) and to catch a flight immediately after? I don't think it's feasible so I was actually thinking of staying for 2 nights in Brussels, do you think that if I keep my expenses within the applicable flat-rate they will give me a refund for travel and hotel? Or perhaps we are supposed to pay the accommodation for ourselves?

marykit Wed, 08/26/2015 - 20:02

Hello guys sorry for delay...
As for the subjects, the one was about career and obstacles, the other the biggest problem to address the EU and one another that I really do not remember... I'm sorry.. They told us that our opinion or knowledge does not matter and only matter the skills related to language use (syntax, spelling, grammar etc.. Maybe vocabulary).
As for the expenses, they accept those related to transportation only (in my case at least, which also was "1 day" evaluation - meaning half day since most candidates were over at around 15:00-15:30 starting also at 8:15). I come from Greece and I received more money than I expected (they are very good at this) and I received them at around 2-3 weeks later. Me, I prefered to stay for 2 more nights before the big day! I did not spend much anyway...
Lastly, the interview was typical but long (for me), it lasted really half an hour! They were friendly, they asked to provide some examples of previous experiences meaning about circumstances from your life (studies, job or anything else) mostly and how you reacted. Nothing unexpected I'd say...
Don't be stressed, you will do fine. Good luck to you all!

Thank you marykit for your tips, I am really curious about how the AC will go. So for the expenses, you received the flat-rate amount corresponding to the distance, is that right? e.g. 255 euros, 325 euros...no matter what you actually spend?

marykit Thu, 08/27/2015 - 12:18

Hello 1984,

The truth is that I have asked them but haven't received their response yet. And it's been nearly 10 days since I sent them my question. That is why I decided to ask this question here as well. Maybe they don't have a clear answer yet.

I guess there are still no news on this question. Since, it was asked by other candidates as well. If you have any news, or if there is any indicative date provided, please share.
