Hello everyone,
I validated the application for the AD5 translators competition. However, I have just realized that I made a mistake in the Profile > Education section. Regarding my Bachelor's degree, I selected "DL (ITA Diploma di Laurea)" as Title of qualification, whereas I should have selected "DU (Diploma universitario)". The difference is that, in the Italian system, the DL corresponds to 5 years of study, while the DU to 3 years. Unfortunately, I only just became aware of it.
Do you think my application will be considered ineligible because of this? Even if I specified in the following section that the qualification refers to a Bachelor's degree (laurea triennale)? Moreover, I am going to add a note explaining the mistake when I attach the supporting documents relating to my university diplomas.
Hi, I don´t think you should
Hi, I don´t think you should worry. I´m in the same competition and if you read the notice of competition, the board has to compare what you say with the scanned documents and, as long as you fulfill the requirements (and you do), a mistake in selecting the category should not disqualify you. It would be a different thing if they had had a talent screener where, for instance, a Master´s degree would make a difference. A five-year diploma is now equivalent to a Master´s degree and with a talent screener it could be considered you´ve lied to your advantage. In this particular case, you´re perfectly fine -the difference is irrelevant: as long as your studies lasted three years, you´re OK.
In bocca al lupo!
