I would like to know if EPSO is planning a new AD5 competition for 2018. I heard that they will probably release one by April next year but my information source is not so reliable. Could anybody cast some light on this question (building on solid grounds of course)...?? .

Hi guessed you already saw it but there has been an announcement for Ad5 on 08/03/2018. This will be my third Ad5 competition and if I don't pass I guess I will quit. I have prepared for several ones (lawyer linguists, specialised posts and AD5) and I'm always 1-2 points away from the pass mark. As for the verbal reasoning, translations in Spanish are crap in the exam and I can't get over 12/20 -and I can tell you that I am very used to read fast and in an efficient manner-. I am now thinking in sitting the exam in English to avoid translation mistakes. In the last competition, the abstract reasoning was far more difficult than the exercises you can make via this platform or at least I had this feeling. Not either the style of the Eu ultimate test book; perhaps a bit closer to the abstract reasoning of ORSEU training but also more difficult.
So it is quite discouraging all together. Let's see if we can make it this time.

Hi, Marisa. This will be my second attempt in AD5. First time I made it through to the second stage where I got disqualified after obtaining 25/40 (not to bad considering the stressful nature and high degree of difficulty of this test). I know how difficult this competition is. I consider that the current EPSO selection system is absurd and a complete waste of time. Despite this, I think that I would give myself some more opportunities. I agree with you in your statement about which is the most reliable source for the preparation of abstract reasoning tests. I equally regard ORSEU as the best one for training this paper. In my view, the translation of verbal test is not too bad, not at least in my case by now. Indeed this paper alongside the numerical are my stronger ones. As yourself, I think that I also will switch to English version this upcoming time.
