Basic IT Literacy AST-SC Competition

I know this question has been asked already but, as I didn't see any reply, I am asking here again. I bought the basic pacakge for AST-SC and now I'd need to buy more questions as I ran out but before proceeding I would like to know if I add more questions to my "Basic IT Literacy" ones will they be similar to the ones I have already bought or more in line with the Prometric ones? I strongly believe the questions of Basic IT Literacy in my basic pacakge don't match the ones I will be facing at CBT so I won't bother to add more if they follow the same concept. Many thanks!

Hello! As you may have noticed there are different opinions regarding this aspect . Therefore I think that beside waiting the real test there are not many things that we can do . All the CBT preparation platforms present the test as EuTraining does . Beside this you should see the positive aspect of this situation that all the candidates will start the competition with the same chances regading this test. In my opinion how we can manage to solve the numerical,verbal,abstract and organizing tests will make the difference between candidates .  In my opinion I think that the IT Basic tests will consist from various questions including the type we bought here .

Thanks Angelo for your comment, I understand what you say but I have a different opinion at this regard. My question hasn't received a reply yet, I would like to know if all the Baisc IT Literacy questions on this platform follow the same concept or not. According to the answer I will decide if buy more questions or not.

I also have the same thinking, it would be nice if you could share your final conclusions. I took prometric tests and they are not even similar to these, so I'm not going to buy the questions. What I noticed is thta Prometric ones are all about the speed, picky questions not difficult if you had the time, but not easy under time pressure....I think that's where the difficulty of these questions reside.

I'm so relieved to hear that. I was hoping they would be easier than the ones I've purchased for training... BUT, I noticed today that EPSO changed the name of the test from "Basic IT literacy" to "Microsoft Office skills" and also changed the sample question.... Have a look: https://epso.europa.eu/how-to-apply/sample-tests_en What is this supposed to mean? Some applicants were tested on the simpe Basic IT questions and some others will be tested on their Microsoft Office skills? That would be VERY unfair... I hope I will be tested on the Basic IT questions like I am supposed to... Good luck with your results by the way!

Yes, I saw it yesterday too, but looking at the NOC, and if I'm not mistaken, the Microsoft Office Skilss anre only tested if you get to the Assesment Center, so it has not changed. To see the Basic IT literacy questions you have to go to the prometric sample test, and after the Verbal, Numerical and Abstract reasoning, you choose lamguage 2 and get a sample of Basic IT literacy. Basic they are, that's for sure, but you have to look at them in so much detail that the time is not enough. I haven't been able to finish it any of the times I had tried. In any case, good luck to you too! Fingers crossed!!

They haven't changed the questions, Basic IT Literacy is still there within the Professional skills tests together with Prioritising and organising (first row below under Online tests). The Micrososft Office skills test will be later at the second stage so if you pass the test and you get invited to the Assesement Centre. You can see below what I copied from the Epso website.

Assistants (AST-SC) 

Online tests: Reasoning skills tests (verbal, numerical and abstract) and Professional skills tests ('Prioritising and organising' and 'Basic IT literacy')
E-tray exercise: sample E-tray question: English, French, German
Language comprehension tests: English, French, German
Finance skills test: English, French, German
Microsoft Office skills test
Accuracy and precision: English, French, German

Based on the feedback received from our customers and experts, the Basic IT Literacy questions have been updated in line with EPSO’s IT Literacy tests. The revised exercises are available on the EU Training site from now on.
