Time management and grading in EPSO AD

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know whether timing is taken into account in our grade and ranking during the pre-selection test? I know that we have limited time, but for instance will someone who gets all the right answers in a very short time rank higher than someone who gets all the right answers in the allocated time?

Thank you!

Hi,

No, how long you take to answer the questions is not an assessed element. You get a numerical value based on the number of correct answers and sometimes adjusted slightly if EPSO identifies (in retrospect) that a specific question was for example worded incorrectly.

These tests are designed to be challenging and with an expectation that many candidates will run out of time however. So by design, you have to be efficient or you won't get a high enough score.

For example: if candidate A answers 20 questions within 30 minutes, and gets 12 right and candidate B answers 15 questions  within 60 minutes and gets 12 right, both candidate A and candidate B would obtain the same score and would both then go to the next stage if the threshold was 12 or lower.

My best advice from previous competitions is  to use the time as efficiently as possible throughout, as the clock always feels to be ticking faster towards the end!
