Anyone knows if for the new CAST EPSO/CAST/P/11/2017 we can apply only for one profile (i.e. communication) only? Or are we free to apply for several differnet profiles?
It says in the description: You may apply for one or more profile(s) and/or function group(s). You are strongly advised to choose only those profiles and function groups for which you have the most relevant education and experience.
I also have a question regarding this CAST. Do you know more details about the language? It says on the webpage that first 3 parts (verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning) are in your first language and the special skills part is in your second language. I do not want to choose my mother language due to bad translation of tests in the past. If I choose English for the fist part and French for the second (special skills), both are my foreign languages, will any other step in my selection process be also in French? What are in fact the next steps if you suceed the computer test, just the interview with your potential employer or are there any further selection steps?
as stipulated in the call for expressions of interest, the II) Competency tests is in the 2nd language,so French in your case. Interview can be in 1st or 2nd language, depends on the recruiting service.
Another question to add to this, is it possible to take all parts in English? I would be more secure as I'll be preparing for the tests in English and there's lack of materials in my native language.
Hello! I am wondering which is the best way to prepare for the competency test in the field of project management? Any literature recommendations? Previous experience (CAST 2015) would also be very helpful. Thank you!
Hi, Nina44. Have you taken part in the webinar with Andras Baneth today? He has informed that EUTRAINING has products which help with each and every field in the COMPETENCY TEST.
Hi, thank you for your answer! Yes I have taken part on Andras Baneths webinar, but unfortunately there are no practice materials for Project / Programme Management neither for Political Affairs / EU Policies...
I passed the tests for FGIII last year. The competency test was related to general knowledge of EU Institutions and basic project management knowledge. Quite easy overall..
As for EPSO/CAST/P/13/2017 - Political affairs / EU policies (FGIV), when filling the application form, in the very first field (Temporary reference number, Competition, Field), there is a drop down menu asking to choose between:
- Policy Development and Management, Programme Management, Project Development
- Political Matters Adviser
I did not find any reference to any of this in the call. Do you maybe know anything about that?
I don't know whether this is because a week has passed since you posed your question - but when I logged in now for that profile (and for the first time) I see no such option - only the first one you mentioned (also no drop down menu). Below is a copy-paste of my screen. This is even more worrysome than having to pick between two options... Anyone else has seen this problem?
COMPETITION, FIELD
Competition EPSO/CAST/P/13/2017 - Political affairs / EU policies
Field: POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT, PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT, PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
I contacted them on the matter - as I mentioned earlier in the meantime there's only one option - the first one you mentioned. Also, they said that they are aware that the job description doesn't quite fit the field they listed and are considering removing it altogether. So I think there's no more reason to ponder on this - just focus on the profile description.
During the webcast, it was mentioned that it would be preferable to choose as first language one of the main three languages in which you would have a minimum C1 level (English, French or German) and as second language as well from the 3 main languages, instead of choosing your mother language as first option. Would that be accurate? I remember Mr. Barneth stating he would get back on this issue, but I am not sure whether he did.
I have also read the call for expressions of interest, and the rules are clear there, this is only a matter of what would put one in advantage.
I am applying for EPSO/CAST/P/4/2017, trying to update my CV from the integrated CAST 2015. On the pages there is no button SAVE, so no updates can be saved. Any similar experience?
Secondly, do we press first on Reniew interest or Edit application? I mean if I press on Reniew, can we still Edit? I am affraid that if I press Reniew EPSO will get my old application.

So I guess yes, you can apply for a few profiles.
anyway, what does it mean "no
anyway, what does it mean "no deadline"? will they add the deadline later or will it stay available forever?

Can anyone clarify the language criterion?
