Dear all,
I was fortunate enough to pass CAST IV (Law) (thank you EU Training!).
Nevertheless, my interest is to work for a particular DG. Luckily for me, I have over 2 years of relevant work experience from the field, including a traineeship from that very DG I am applying to. I am currently working in private practice within the field.
After the passing of the exam, I have contacted the general HR email box of the DG and shown my interest to work with them.
Nevertheless, what can I do to make myself as more attractive candidate for the position?
The following could improve
The following could improve your chances:
1) Tailor your EPSO application to the DG’s / directorates’ units’ policy domain;
2) Send your CV and motivation letter to the units that may have an interest in your profile. You can identify the Heads of each Unit and any other staff member: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/who-is-who
3) Adjust your cv and motivation letter to the policy domain of the unit;
4) Dedicate a paragraph in your motivation letter what caused your willingness to join the EU public service. Such as an inspiring teacher, professor, a family member, a book your read, a inspring discussion with a friend, an event etc.
