Hello all, when should we expect to learn the results from the translator competition of the past week ?

Does anyone know how many candidates applied ?

Thanks for your replies.

It might take several months

It might take several months before the results are published.

You can find the number of applicants on the relevant competition page in the Competition overview section.

Hello, I have not received

Connie Laz Sun, 03/30/2025 - 23:41

Hello, I have not received any results yet. I have taken one in December and one exam in March and still did not receive any results of any of the two. Does anyone know anything about it?

Hi, if you read the notice of

M. Fri, 04/04/2025 - 10:14

Hi, if you read the notice of competition, 'test results will only be notified to candidates at the end of the competition'. Since they have to correct so many translations and revisions, it will take many months.

"Many months" is a bit vague.

"Many months" is a bit vague. Will we know by end of 2025?

If anyone (at EU Training, maybe) has figures for previous translator competitions, i.e. how many months it took to publish the results, maybe they could post that info here?

The most recent Translator

M. Tue, 04/08/2025 - 18:14

The most recent Translator competition was for Swedish and the whole process took about a year. So end of 2025 is even optimistic. See: https://eu-careers.europa.eu/en/job-opportunities/competition/8040/descr...

Today, the news that CBTs

Mari Thu, 04/10/2025 - 21:29

Today, the news that CBTs have to repeated was published on the EPSO web pages (go in the ongoing competitions). So the tests are still to be finshed.

Apparently we'll have to redo

nilramos_181494 Thu, 04/10/2025 - 21:34

Apparently we'll have to redo the whole multiple choice part because of a technical error with TestWe!! Isn't that great!??

Wow, really? This might be

M. Thu, 04/10/2025 - 22:20

Wow, really? This might be good for you, but it's terrible news for those of us who did an outstanding performance on the 6th of March. I do not understand. This is a competition for linguists. You're supposed to know how to read, if you want to work as a linguist. The situation is the following: a bunch of people do not read the instructions right and we all have to pay the prize? Have this people never in their life done a multiple choice test on paper? If the instructions say: 'only one is correct' and you mark more than one answer, you should be out, the very least is losing that point. Full stop. Instead, we get an outcome where poor, clumsy, inattentive readers will have a second chance and those of us who did it right have to waste half a holiday and a great effort. Again. Well, good luck to you all!

It's not good for me at all!

nilramos_181494 Fri, 04/11/2025 - 09:10

It's not good for me at all! You must have missed my sarcasm :)
Of course I'm not happy, it's just a huge waste of time and effort, for me and so many other people, because of a poor product (TestWe).

On the other hand, how do you know you did an outstanding performance during the first round? Did you get official results for the reasoning tests? (I didn't ...)

My performance was

M. Fri, 04/11/2025 - 16:49

My performance was outstanding to me, it´s just a personal impression. Of course they didn´t give out any results. Only at the very end of the competition we´ll know.

I know that, at least in one

quelaromero_146741 Fri, 04/11/2025 - 16:54

I know that, at least in one of the exams, I have marked two answers because I was changing mine at the last moment when the time ended so It was keeped that way... I really thought I have lost that answer because, obviously, it was wrong anyway due to the double response. I'm also pished off because of this situation.

Hi, could you kindly share

Mas Fri, 04/11/2025 - 17:27

Hi, could you kindly share within which specific test you were able to provide two replies, as stated above? Since we do not have much info at the moment regarding which MCQ test(s) we will have to redo, it would be very useful information for this second preparation. Thanks!

Sure! no problem. It was in

quelaromero_146741 Fri, 04/11/2025 - 17:54

Sure! no problem. It was in the Language knowedlege test where, for sure, I put two answers in one question, but I am aware that it was also possible to do it in the abstract test, because I used this posibility as a marker for possible solutions. Indeed, at the moment I thought it was a great new feature that helped me to solve the questions (silly me). I don't know if it was also possible in the verbal and numerical. Unfortunatelly, I think at least all 4 test we made in the moring are compeled because they were all 4 together.  I don't know about the fifth test we made in the afternoon, the Language comprehesion test. I don't remember right know, and as you can imagine, I had no clue at the moment this would be of any importance later, so I did't pay attention to it. Hope this help you.

Many thanks! :)

Mas Fri, 04/11/2025 - 20:58

Many thanks! :)

Ah, by the way. With this new

M. Thu, 04/10/2025 - 22:32

Ah, by the way. With this new delay, the results are less and less likely to come out in 2025. It'll be more likely 2026. So I hope you all, whether attentive readers or not, have loads and loads of patience.

On the Facebook group people

ryan.elt_181326 Fri, 04/11/2025 - 09:33

On the Facebook group people say they took part in a webinar with an Irish EPSO representative, in which he indicated that they hoped to publish the list by June of this year. (This was before the TestWe fiasco of yesterday.)

NB. This is hearsay on Facebook.

Unfortunately, we do not have

David @EU Training Sat, 04/19/2025 - 13:32

Unfortunately, we do not have any further information at this time. The publication of the results is entirely at the discretion of EPSO and indeed, take several months.
