CAST -new application system?

Hi,

I'm wondering whether anyone's had any success with the new Onlne-CV system beng used for the latest CAST callls?

This appears to be very different from the EPSO system, asking for a lot more information from candidate. However the design of the website looks very rudimentary. My gut feeling is that it still work in progress and I'm unsure whether the CVs and application submitted through this method have started being used yet.

Have I missed any posts, threads or resources by EUTraining on this subject?

I may have misunderstood this - the 'new' contracts which require submitting an E-CV are specifically for the European Commission, rather than replacing the CAST call.

 

A bit confused as to why there would be two streams for the EC to recruit from since at least one of them (the EPSO competition) receivees a high number of qualified applications which are seemingly underutilised..

I think the e-CV might be used in special cases when there are no people on reserve lists for the moment (for example the competition is ongoing or to be announced) or replacement for maternity leave is needed, etc.

Note that there are contract agents 3a and 3b and the conditions and career prospects for them are NOT the same.
