Hey I wonder if EU officials allowed to practice their business operations while working in the EU.

If you want to exercise a professional activity while being an EU official, you must ask for prior authorisation. The corresponding provision is laid down in the Staff Regulation. Infringing this rule is subject to disciplinary measures.
