I was wondering if one's passed the reasoning test for one competiton (let's say for an AD6 permanent position) but failed the rest and then apply for one AD5 competition, does them have to retake the full test or EPSO will let them skip the reasoning test part? Some time back I read that you could keep the result of the reasoning test for a while, but I wonder if now that they test everything on the same day you have to retake each part anyway.

For AD competitions, you need to redo everything.
As for CAST, the validity of the reasoning test results (from the date when the results have been published in your EPSO Account) is 10 years.
The results are always valid for the function group for which you were tested and for any lower function group.
