Hello everyone! As I am thinking of applying for a AD or linguist position in the next months/years, it would be great to now how the EU deals with remote working. In case of a full-time position, how many days per week would it be possible to work remotely? Or, more broadly, which flexible working models are possible in the context of EU institutions? Unfortunately, I have not found any information regarding this aspect so far. Thanks, Barbara

I don't have much information on the matter, but since no one has given you a better reply (or any reply at all !), I might as well try to answer your question... :)
So, I can say two things:
1) So far, none of the basic EU institutions (EC, EP) has changed their working methods on a permanent basis. Everything having to do with remote working is related to covid restrictions and they haven't established an official remote working pattern for any other reason/occasion, i.e. as an official/permanent alternative.
2) In a FB event some months ago, the DG Translation of the European Parliament actually answered this question, that was asked by a person attending the event: the EP said that there is no remote working model, the translation tools are to be used in the office and something like that. You can check out the video of the event if you have access to FB (it is a linguist-translator group, if I am not mistaken).
In any case, things may change in the course of time, so I suggest that if you find a position that you are interested in, you should ask them directly, in order to have an official answer, based on the rules that apply at the time of your application.

The idea of remote working in the EU institutions was completely new to me as well, at least if referring to non-pandemic times. After reading this article https://www.politico.eu/article/coronavirus-pandemic-remote-work-zoom-of..., I have started looking for some official information from EU institutions but I haven´t found anything so far. As you said, we are probably about to experience some changes in the next future but no official regulations have been approved so far.
In Germany, public administration is also undergoing some deep changes in their working methods and new legislation will be officially approved in 2022. So, I guess I will have to wait til next year at least to have more precise information on this topic.
