Hi,

According to the Notice of Competition, professional experience have to be acquired as follows: "....as an investigator, police officer or other law enforcement officer carrying out investigations targeting financial crime, public corruption and the defense of public financial interests. / ....Candidates must have acquired their professional experience in a law enforcement agency/body, in the judiciary or a public administration of a Member State, in a European Union institution/agency/body or an international organization"

Does this work experience requirement means that financial audit experience gained within the private sector does not qualify at all, as eligible for the competition?

Dear Simbou,

It is most likely that you are not eligible. Please also note that the EPSO Investigators competition deadline has passed. The deadline for registration was 22 June 2016.

Kind regards,

And in my case, if I work for

And in my case, if I work for a federal government agency from a country outside EU, do you think they can consider me eligible, I mean, is their description strict?

I think I should give it a try... opinions?

Dear Luciano,

Dear Luciano,

You would first have to meet key eligibility criteria such as:

- Enjoy full rights as a citizen of a Member State of the EU
- Meet any obligations under national laws on military service
- Meet the character requirements for the duties concerned
- Meet the Specific language conditions: (Language 1: minimum level — C1 in one of the 24 official EU languages) and (Language 2: minimum level — B2 in English, French or German; must be different from language 1)
- Meet the education/work experience required

The Notice of Competitions does state "Candidates must have acquired their professional experience in a law enforcement agency/body, in the judiciary or a public administration of a Member State, in a European Union institution/agency/body or an international organisation." so I don't think there is any harm in trying, but be sure to read the official Notice of Competition thoroughly to ensure you do tick all the boxes concerning key eligibility criteria.

Kind regards,

David @ EU Training
