Eligibility Requirements

This used to be referred to as Admissions Criteria.

To become an EU official through EPSO's evaluation process, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements. There are three basic criteria:

1. Must have full rights as a citizen of one of the European Union's 27 Member States
2. Must meet the character requirements (e.g. no criminal record).
3. Must have fulfilled all requirements of the military service (if relevant in the given country).

It is important to always read the specific eligibility criteria in the Notice of Competition for each separate EPSO competition. The specific criteria will include details about requirements for schooling, work experience and language knowledge, as well as the rules for Language 1 and Language 2.
