Recruitment

Recruitment is the final phase of the selection procedure and is not handled by EPSO. EPSO only deals with the 'selection' of potential new officials but they don't do any of the actual recruitment. It is up to the specific Directorate General or EU institution to decide who they wish to invite for a final interview from among those who have been placed on a Reserve List.

Recruitment happens after two or three candidates, or laureates, are invited for a 'classic' job interview in which they are asked questions about their knowledge in the specific field, motivation and personal profile. A medical examination is also required. If all goes well, a job offer is extended towards the laureate. If they accept the offer they become an EU official with an initial nine (9) month probation period.
