What’s New In The EPSO Competitions Calendar?

With so many EPSO competitions underway and new competitions being announced regularly, it is hard to keep track of where things are at in the EPSO competitions calendar. Below you will find an overview of the many new opportunities coming up and how current competitions are progressing. 

 

Upcoming Competitions

Lawyer-Linguists (NL, DE) (Court of Justice) (AD7): Notice of Competition is set to be released THIS WEEK - 17 May 2018. Deadline for registration is 19 June at 12-noon (CET).

Administrators in the field of Data Protection (AD6): While EPSO currently states that it will be released in May, no specific dates have been announced.

Armed Security and Protection Officers (AST-SC): This competition is expected to be released in June 2018.

Administrators in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (AD6) & Assistants in the field of Archivistics/Records Management (AST3): These competitions will most likely be released at the same time in July 2018. 

Heads of Administration in EU Delegations (Location Non-EU cities): Looks like we will have to wait a bit for this competition to be released - sometime in Autumn 2018.

 

Completed: 2017 Generalist Administrators Competition (EPSO/AD/338/17) (AD5)

A total of 126 candidates made it onto the Reserve List.
The minimum score required was 52/80.

Temporary Contract Agents - CAST

A number of temporary contract positions are currently undergoing a recruitment drive. There is no deadline for applications, but if you would like to be considered for such opportunities, you must register in the CAST database. Ongoing Competitions

Graduate Administrators (EPSO/AD/356/18) (AD5):
The second round of applications for this highly popular competition closed recently on 3 May, 2018. For the first application round 28,142 candidates registered. This number dropped to 22,666 after the second application deadline. Candidates are now eagerly awaiting an invitation to the Pre-Selection exam. The computer-based test booking period will take place between 29 May – 12 June, with the Pre-Selection exam scheduled for 5 June – 13 July 2018.

 

Administrators in the field of Audit (EPSO/AD/357/18) (AD5):
The application deadline for this competition was 24 April, 2018. Now applicants are awaiting an invitation to the Pre-Selection exam. The computer-based test booking period will be between 24 May – 12 June, with the Pre-Selection exam scheduled for 4 June – 13 July 2018.

 

Health and Food Safety Specialists (EPSO/AD/340/18) & (EPSO/AD/341/18) (AD6):
The application deadline for these competitions was 17 April, 2018. New details have not been released yet, about the next stages of this competition.

 

Research Programme Administrators (REA/TA/AD6/01/18 – 1, 2 & 3) (AD6):
The Pre-selection exams of this competition are currently underway and will conclude this week on 16 May, 2018. We wish each candidate the very best of luck!

 

Lawyer Linguists – Court of Justice (LV, MT) (EPSO/AD/354/17 & EPSO/AD/355/17) (AD7):
The Translation Tests for this competition concluded on 27 April, 2018. The Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime in September 2018.

 

Linguistic Assistants (SV, RO, FR, DE, BG, EN) (EPSO/AST/144/17) (AST1):
The Pre-Selection computer-based tests for this competition concluded on 5 April, 2018. The Case Study and Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime in September 2018.

 

Financial Economics & Macroeconomics (EPSO/AD/339/17 – 1 & 2) (AD7):
After reviewing the Talent Screener, 158 candidates have been invited to take part in the Financial Economics Assessment Centre, while 102 candidates have been invited to take part in the Macroeconomics Assessment Centre. The Case Study is currently underway for both competitions. The Assessment Centres however, will take place at different times. Financial Economics candidates will undertake the Assessment Centre between the dates of 28 May – 10 July 2018, while Microeconomics candidates will undertake it between 10 September – 10 October 2018.

 

Secretaries/Clerks (EPSO/AST-SC/06/17 – 1 & 2) (AST-SC):
The Pre-Selection computer-based tests for this competition concluded on 13 April, 2018. The Assessment Centre is expected to take place sometime between October – December 2018.

 

Lawyer-Linguists (DA, ET, GA, HR, LV, SL) (EPSO/AD/348/17- EPSO/AD/353/17) (AD7):
The Translation Tests for this competition are about to commence. The booking period for the Translation Tests will take place from 4 – 15 May 2018. The actual testing period will run from 28 May – 1 June 2018. The following number of candidates have been invited for each profile DA – 8, ET – 18, GA – 8, HR – 48, LV – 7 and SL – 24.

 

Experts in Media and Digital Communication (EPSO/AD/347/17 & EPSO/AST/143/17) (AD6 & AST3):
The following number of candidates have made it to the Talent Screener round after the Pre-Selection computer-based exams: Communication Specialist 858, Webmaster 133, Communication Assistant 452, Visual Communication Assistant 129. Currently, the Talent Screener of each candidate is being reviewed before invitations to the Assessment Centre are extended. The Case Study booking period is expected to take place sometime in June 2018, while the actual Case Study and Assessment Centre is expected around September 2018.

 

Proofreaders / Editors (DA, HR, MT, SL, SV, NL) (EPSO/AST/142/17) (AST3):
This competition is in its final stages. The computer-based tests took place at the end of April. The Case Study was completed on 12 April and now everyone is keenly awaiting the Assessment Centre, which is planned to take place sometime this month (however, no specific dates have been released yet).

 

Building Specialists (EPSO/AD/342/17 & EPSO/AST/141/17 – 1-3) (AD6 & AST3):
The Case Study component of this competition was completed in March. Currently, candidates are undertaking the Assessment Centre over the following periods:

  • Administrators in the buildings sector: 18 April - 13 June, 2018
  • Assistants in the buildings sector - Building construction coordinators/technicians: 18 April - 29 May, 2018
  • Assistants in the buildings sector - Building coordinators/technicians in air conditioning and electromechanical and electrical engineering: 18 April - 6 June, 2018
  • Assistants in the buildings sector - Occupational safety/building safety assistants: 6 June - 19 June, 2018

EU Training offers preparation services for the EPSO Assessment Centre through Classroom Training sessions and Personal Coaching (face-to-face or via Skype).

 

Translators (DE, FR, IT, NL) (EPSO/AD/343/17) (AD5):
The Assessment Centre for this competition is expected to take place sometime in July 2018.
