All EPSO competitions require candidates to speak/read/write in at least two official EU Languages. These are referred to as Language 1 and Language 2.
Generally, Language 1 is a language candidates choose from any of the 24 official languages of the European Union. These include Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenia, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish.
