Hi everybody!

Last thursday I did receive my computer-based multiple choice test's results. I have 35/40, but I'm not sure if my degree (Business Administration) will be considered OK in the next phase, Talent Screener. I have a lot of experience in Archivistics, but I don't know how my degree could be considered. Do you have some information about this topic? Thanks a lot!

Hi, I can't believe that people don't even read the Notice of Competition before going thru a selection procedure !!

If you had read it, you would know that this specialist AD6 competition is reserved for people WITH a specific degree in the field which is not your case. So you had a high score and you are taking the place of someone who perhaps has less score but is entitled to try to pass and suceed. Because what happens: the best scores are going trhu the Talent Screener (so probably you will be accepted) but you will be rejected later on when they will check the eligibility criteria !!!!

I think YOU did not read the notice carefully:

"A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma. The diploma must include at least 2 years of studies or training in archives, information/knowledge management or records management or be accompanied by a diploma in archives, information/knowledge management or records management."

If the applicant has a degree in business administation that included at least 2 years of training in 'information management' (whatever that means), that should be fine.

Thanks a lot! In fact, the

Thanks a lot! In fact, the key is "whatever that means". I will explain the next step...

Perhaps someone with a specific degree must do more work to pass CBT with better score. This is my first selection procedure. I hope you will succeed with your competition.

Thank you. I hope you

Thank you. I hope you understand for the future that the basis and first thing to do is to read carefully the Notice of competition that can be different from a selection to another.

Hey guys,

Hey guys,

I do not feel like you are discriminating against other candidates if you participate in the competition. But unfortunately, I think that you will be eliminated still at the talent screener if you do not have a specialist degree (especially that in this Notice of competition it was specifically mentioned 'degree in records management or information management').  From my experience it is actually not worth it to participate in the competitions that are not matching your education and experience, since it is time consuming and creates false hopes, but at some point it might be useful if you wanna try and practice the tests, but do not be mistaken, cause the tests for generalists for example seem to be harder and have higher threshold than the tests for specific profiles.

I wish you all guys good luck in the competitions and hey no need to get annoyed, since the point of the open competitions is that it is open to everybody:)

Thanks! It was my first

Thanks! It was my first competition. Right now I know a lot of things about Epso Competitions, but it's really a very different world with different rules. At last, I think trying the tests have been a good experience. I totally agree with the point about creating false hopes, but maybe participating in Epso Competitions is a long way of learning.
